Who moderates the moderators? 
Does being a mod strip you of the right to an opinion? Or the right to be juvenile? I guess some would argue 'please, miss, it wasn't me who started it - it was Hook'... I don't think the childish insults are particularly helpful, but I can appreciate why people are making them... Maybe we need 'Like' and 'Unlike' buttons if the site/forum is being upgraded?

I'm sure all the NOOL comedians will be in here like rats up a drainpipe with their frankly hilarious musings (Edit - I see they already are..) but let me just say, to have gone almost 2 years on the road without cancelling anything (Japanese dates rescheduled due to the earthquake/tsunami issue aside), I think that's pretty good. It's not as if Bad Lieutenant didn't cancel America enough times is it... These things happen, all our other gigs are unaffected.

I have recently seen a few promotion posters in Australia. They tour was good promoted. It's a pity for all the work now. It isn't a competition between Bernard's band and Hooky's Band. Some comments here are totally amiss.

Slight over-reaction, isn't it? The Light tour is postponed, and a few comments are made connecting this with Hook's recent outspoken 'feisty' behavior in the press, and questions as to why the cancellations. Apparently this is 'bickering, infantile, juvenile and embarrassing'. I'd be more embarrassed by the amount of 'right on, like he said!' comments than any of the 'purile'(sic) negative comments aimed at Hook.
What does that make the recent comments about Tom Chapman playing like 'a girl' and being 'just a session musician'?
Still haven't heard why the cancellations, which is a relevant question - notice Jack was quick to come on and have a pop at the haters, but still no explanation for the cancellation beyond 'production issues'
Once turned up at Leeds Duchess for a Revenge gig, a note was pinned to the door "Tonights gig has been cancelled, He has gone on holiday". Think it was Italy?
I hold my hands up for making 'childish' comments, they're intended to bring some humour to what is a very childish situation that we have been watching unfold in the media .

Some comments are just tongue in cheek, some are over the line.
Maybe the "Community Standards" should be enforced, fairly, to everyone, if the Mods want to see them adhered to strictly.
That has never happened, so it's unlikely to ever happen, so no point moaning about the status quo.

to not get to see a favorite band is one of the sad facts of life. i remember pink floyd going home after the theft of equipment in new orleans 1969. and living in texas meant flying to california for bunnymen and new order tours . or hoping to see danny kirwan with fleetwood mac , but he wasn't there . so the kiwis have much to regret. hope they get another chance

The only people who care about what gets put on this forum, are the ones who write and comment about things! Doesn't make any difference if it's a moderator or not. This forum is no different to any other. Lot's of people read, and only a few post.
The German tour was cancelled in similiar situation, to the Australian tour being "postponed". It's that simple. Jack doesn't have to get on the forum and explain why, especially when most people are bickering about it. Send an email to FAC51 if you are that interested. Or checkout the Facebook.
A lot of work had gone into it, a lot of people had purchased tickets for multiple shows around Australia, including accomodation and flights, so it's no joke to have to postpone a tour that has been promoted and a lot of tickets sold.
The press release states the reasons, without going into personal business.
New Order never cared what people thought of them, neither Bernard or Hooky are going to lose any sleep over the love and hate shared here.
I don't see Tom as a session musician : NO seem to be very inclusive in ensuring he is in group shots, interviews, etc. He doesn't hide at the back away from the spotlight, and doesn't seem to have an interview ban that some musicians in some bands have. Morrissey's band years ago were asked and said that they were forbidden from giving interviews. Guns N Roses post 1993 are in the same position a lot of the time.
I've always liked girls that can play bass, by the way.

So how long is it postponed for? I bought the meet and greet package; have the laminate, poster, etc, sitting behind me.

Chapman is a session musician until he appears on a New Order album which includes new material. Don't get me wrong, that means Hooky's lot are pretty much all session musicians too. It is not a comment on the quality of anyone's playing, just their actual contribution.
There might not be another New Order album. Does this mean that people who are in bands that don't make records, or weren't on an LP were session musicians?
Love the way that article tries to make it out as if that quote, which is basically my dad saying "We're working hard to make it sound great"... somehow means "Closer is really difficult to play and that's why this tour has been postponed"... Is the guy who wrote it not aware of the ton of other shows we have done/are doing? Absolute shite & downright lazy journalism, but then again everything I've ever read on that site has been just that. :dead:

There's no way of putting a timescale on new shows this early, the current shows have only just been postponed themselves... Just know that we are already working on booking some new dates for Aus & NZ.
