What's at the top of your most wanted list?

It doesn't have to be rare (or it could be). If you had the money, and your neighborhood music store had it, what would you drop your money for first? How about one NO/JD item and one other item not NO or JD. Also, it needs to already exist - so no IV.

The JD/NO one is easy; that'd be the Sordide Sentimental package.

As for 'others', I did find one thing I was looking for: ACR's recent SoulJazz comp. I have the material on the first disc, but didn't have any of the Peel stuff. Plus, there's a video/film about ACR in NY in'80 on their as well.

Might as well shoot for the moon on the "not bloody likely to obtain at a reasonable cost" list and hope for the first Velvets album with an unpeeled banana in very good shape. (Yeah right!)

If you don't have any Reload CD's, I can get one for you, Biz. I have "A Collection of Short Stories" at my work, but from what I gather, it's still in print so you might have it already.

As for the "Here Are The Young Men" video, a cousin of my has/had that thing on beta.

The Here are the Young Men video is still great to see although the quality is quite poor and the cameraman is standing to the side of the stage, not giving the greatest view of the band. The amazing power of Joy Division live still shines through the poor quality though ...

The 1981-1982 CD... This one seems hard to find.

I just won this off of Ebay for $14.50 US - it was awesome! This CD is regularly on there - but you want to find it by looking through all NO CD's, that is how I found mine. The guy titled it as FEP 313 - he did not include 1981 or 1982 in the title. You should be able find something for a good price within a week or two.

JD/NO - an original of either An Ideal for Living 7" EP or the Sordide Sentimental single would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath

I have these if you want to email me for a trade. There is speculation that they are going to do a Peel Session CD with all JD and NO Peels including 98, but that is speculation at this point. They also could include them in IV.

as most of my NO stuff is on cassette and i've moved around a lot, i now can't find most of my NO collection! so, as for what i want NO-wise, it would be most of their back catalogue on CD (fortunately i have most of my JD on CD).

as for non NO/JD, someone nicked my burt bacharach greatest hits a few years ago, and i really want to replace it.

All 3 of these have appeared on ebay in the last 2 months. Sordide Sentimental went for £375!, An Ideal for Living - the seller wanted $850 & received no bids, a Factory Sample (FAC2) went for about £200.So you could have picked the lot up for just over a grand!!.

the JD Effenaar Eindhoven 1980 18/01/80 bootleg is my favorite ever... why did they only officially release 4 songs out of the 16 songs that are on the bootleg?? doesnt make sense to me... i'm scared to even play my old bootleg vinyl, so i downloaded the mp3s, which sound fine (it is a bootleg, after all) i've seen the vinyl for sale for quite a lot on eBay...

i just bought the Warsaw bootleg CD with the grey baby, i wish i hadn't, what muddy sound, i've got it all on scratchy old bootlegs from the early 80s anyway, even the very different style punky "You're no good for me"......

does the Incubation/ Komakino 7" flexidisc sell for much? it was a freebie back then, was a cool bonus...

how many Everything's Gone Green/ Procession 7" singles were there?? i've got two different color covers.... i've got all those early JD/NO 7"'s like Transmission, Love will..., Ceremony, Gone Green, Temptation, even Confusion... and 1981-82 12" on dark purple vinyl, my very first NO purchase...amazing how every thing made its way to Ohio, and i was such a dork to buy them...

FAC 53 in BRITAIN was in 9 colours and then they are some rare ITALIAN and promo ones.I have 8 of the 9 normal ones ,just missing the BROWN cover.Only worth about £3-£5 each but it the COLLECTING that is fun.But keep collecting cos in years to come the memories of where and when you bought them will make you smile.Unlike the PROMO i got for 1963 12inch which i bought when i paid my fines to BLACKBURN COURT for a little TROUBLE i had!Still i am free now and the PROMO is still ace.Have FUN.:D

I've got SS and Fac2, and they're just in the rack with the rest of my vinyl. Better move them before the little fella gets hold of them for frisbee practice!

This forum has really opened my eyes of late, as to what people percieve as rare, and how much they'd pay. It makes me feel old that a True Faith CDV that I picked up in HMV for a couple of quid all those years ago is now a collectors item!!

I got SS around '87 - '88 time at a "Collectors Convention" (ie a Record Fair, but with "reputable" dealers only). It was reassuringly expensive!

The Factory Sample was pilfered directly from my brother's collection, along with the original Factory OMD Electricity....bonus!
