Whitestone/Queens, NY. 1987.
Bizarre Love Triangle plays on a tape player in the background. Gio plays with the tape box.
Phone rings.
Jessica (Emily Ratajkowski) over the phone: "Did you listen?"
Gio (Spencer Boldman): "I just put it on."
Jessica: "What do you think?"
Gio: "It's cool. it's like freestyle, only totally different"..."Where they from?"
Jessica: "England".
Gio: "Yeah?... I like it"
Jessica: "Look at you! A New Order fan!"
Scene switches to a nightclub where Jessica and Gio are dancing to BLT which is now playing loud. Emily Ratajkowski struggling to keep her boobs in that red dress.
Scene changes again to Jessica and Gio on the train ride home, smitten with each other now that they've danced to BLT together. Maybe.
Film: Cruise (2018). Is it a good film? Not especially, but hey Emily Ratajkowski is in it. Some say she's the most beautiful woman in the world. Also she was in David Fincher's Gone Girl as Ben Afleck's 'other woman'. Oh and that Blurred Lines video. To paraphrase one of the IMDB reviewers, the film is a bt like American Graffiti (drag races, young people hangin' out in the street) but not as good.
BTW I just checked Discogs having looked at the cassette box. I didn't realise that the US versions of the cassette were just a single tape; no B-sides.

Yep, but we got the double CD. :)
I bought an import of the double cassette, and it came in a slipcase.

they should have probably used 'confusion' instead of 'bizarre love triangle', it would have fit in well with the other style of music. the rest of which was completely terrible.
yes, they were trying to show that she was into new wave, and alternative, i get it.
but confusion would have been a much better fit.

Well, yeah kind of but i'm just the one who uploaded the clip to YouTube , not the one who is the greatest drummer ever.
But I still cringe when i see the crap picture quality at certain points in that clip and others i've copied to my laptop and uploaded to YT.I still haven't worked out what gadget i need to achieve HD quality in the transfer from tv box to laptop.Maybe one day i'll work it out what gadget i need.I should take my laptop to Maplin's or something and say "Right, tell me and show me what i need to buy and how do i install it to achieve HD quality video transfer" .My current gadget loses the HD quality in the transfer.

Ah right.I vaguely recall Maplins in the news sometime back yes but thought it was just some stores had closed , not the whole company gone bust.So i'll have to go somewhere else then!

Crap idea, actually. Totally took me out of the episode. Probably because, to me, that song is a Manc as can be and doesn't play well with a bunch of (fictional) Brummie gangsters.
BBC 6 Music are focusing on the Chemical Brothers Surrender album this weekend (is someone at 6 Music getting kickbacks?) See details here.
Anyway during aninterview special with Lauren Laverne last night they were talking about "the music that's meant the most to them over two decades" and at 6.50 they talk about working with Bernard on OOC. "He sent us tapes and tapes of guitar parts and vocal ideas". See this is what I wanted them to add to the forthcoming box set (out in 2 weeks), as mentioned in the 21 Mins Of OOC thread. Missed opportunity! Bernard had special gold plated guitar lead demands. His wine needs weren't met by Bernondsey... (The Chems used to record at Orinoco studios just off London's Old Kent Road). I didn't realise Bernard was already big into wine in '99. Then Lauren plays their NO tune of choice, EGG. After that, a clip from an old interview where they discuss Bernard knocking at the front door of their student house in Manchester (before they were the Chems) and asking if there was a party on. And then back to the present, they presented Bernard (at his request) with an award at Nordoff Robbins, and he proceeded to roast them. And then they discuss going to the Hacienda.
EDIT: I can't find any footage of the Nordoff Robbins thing. Shame. Here's a photo instead.

Yes i caught maybe the second half of the Lauren Laverne show with Tom and Ed so i missed the stuff about Bernard, will listen on catch up.Been playing the Nemone show part of the Chems 6 Music evening.Some great stuff i hadn't listened to for years like their remix of Primal Scream's Swastika Eyes.Used to love caning that remix in the car back in 2000.Also their mix aired on Nemone's show is pretty good (previously aired some years back?).Had it on while doing homemade Pizza.There's also from 6 Music last night the Chems at Glastonbury 2000 but haven't listened yet.
Another funny tale about Bernard that Tom & Ed mentioned in another interview sometime back on something is about when the Chemical Brothers played an outdoor gig somewhere not far from where Bernard lives and he texted them asking them to turn the noise down as he was trying to watch telly.
Well only another few weeks now til 29th Nov when i go to see Chemical Brothers at Birmingham NEC or whatever its called now .It's taken a bloody age to come around since i bought the tickets.

Kojima is a HUGE JD/NO fan. I've seen him wear shirts with the artwork for Technique, Music Complete, Unknown Pleasures, etc.
I think Elegia was used in one of the Metal Gear Solid games too.

Yep - it was certainly used in the Metal Gear Solid V trailer (not sure about the game itself).
It was funny when, after it was used In ‘Stranger Things’, Metal Gear Solid fans getting outraged that they’d pinched ‘their’ song.
I guess it’s all good exposure for the band.

Crikey I’ve just realised today that the show is at Birmingham Arena ( used to be called the NIA) in Brum City Centre, not Birmingham NEC ( concerts there are in a hangar now called Resorts Arena) . Could have been a disastrous night!

I remember going to the NIA for a record fair in the early 90s. I was collecting New Order 'cuttings' back then and bought a back issue of 'No. 1' magazine there. It was sealed so couldn't open it. Think it cost me about £6, so not cheap.
After leaving the Record Fair, I got outside the venue and decided to examine my various purchases. I opened the magazine to find that the New Order bit (a 'pin-up') had been removed from the centre pages and was missing. I tried to get back into the venue to complain but the bastards at the gate wouldn't let me back in.
So, that's my sole NIA experience. No New Order. It couldn't be further away from this thread title.

Bought the Palatine box set from HMV Birmingham in the early 90s but it wasn’t until I was on the train home that I opened the box and the CDs weren’t in there. Got off the train at Coventry and went to HMV there and explained to them situation. After they phoned HMV Birmingham to check, they gave me the missing 4 CDs, problem sorted. True story dat.

Great stuff.That's actually the second time YSF has been played on the station in the last few weeks, it was played on RadMac one recent weekend.Also, Every Little Counts was played on Lauren Laverne's show the other day.Part of a feature about songs where the singer has burst into laughter during the track.
