Standalone vinyl independent of the boxes?

Bought Mark Fisher's 'Ghosts Of My Life' book , originally published in 2013 i think . A collection of his writings and blogs on societal changes, lost futures and hauntology. Chapter he writes about Joy Division a good read. Think it was adapted from a 2005 blog of his as he writes about the film Control which was 2007 so yeah, adapted from an original 2005 blog which he'd done as JD around 2005 were becoming relevant again. Anyway, his opinion of the film Control i agreed with and felt it hit the nail on head better than i could of. He wrote that Control "only traced the outline of Joy Division, it didn't capture the maelstrom". Yes, to me, Control was a bit perfume advert of Joy Division. Fisher goes on to opine that Grant Gee's 2007 doc was a more defining document than Control. Have to agree. Mark Fisher died by suicide in 2017.

Yep! Wonder if it will be a full replica of what appeared in the boxset i.e. Lowlife will have the tracing paper, Brotherhood be the metallic cover etc....

I know this video references New Order, not just from the title but due to the presence of a Blue Monday 12" on the table in front of the presenters. I don't understand Japanese, and YouTube's auto translate subtitles aren't making much sense, so I don't know what they're talking about. Hopefully someone gets something useful from this video.

In season 2, episode 2 of High Potential, a U.S. police procedural show, Bizarre Love Triangle plays a part. A hostage taken by "The Gamemaker" says the words to BLT aloud in her hostage video. Then later, the main character finds the hostage when The Gamechanger somehow plays BLT really loudly when the main character is passing by, so she'll find the hostage. There's also a stripped down cover by Priscilla Ahn at the end. Apparently the producers were "wiling to pay a premium" to be able to use the song. https://www.tvline.com/interviews/high-potential-bizarre-love-triangle-season-2-episode-2-1235516815/

For all these years, until I saw the little pop-up book, I've been mishearing lyrics "It's the school exam and the kids have run away" as "It's the school that's in the kiss, I've run away." I was so convinced I've never checked the actual lyrics anywhere.

Anyone recognise the vocalist here from 5:43 onwards? Clearly singing Temptation from 6:04. This is from a recent Chemical Bros DJ set in Italy.

We know they've been incorporating Temptation into their live shows for 20+ years (with Star Guitar). Initially just the instrumentation, and then by 2018/19 also with actual Bernard vocals (as per the video below). But the first vid seems to be a new vocal used in thir DJ set. The music/instrumention underneath is believed to be an unreleased Chems track, so it may be a red herring. The vocal may be an acapella they've plonked on top. But who is it?

Live show (as oppposed to DJ set above)

Nope, no idea who that vocalist is, Debaser. There isn't an MC somewhere out of camera shot is there?

I hate to say it, but these days, it could be BernAIrd...

This showed up today on Discogs as an unofficial (I presume) remix of Blue Monday on the Indecent Nose soundcloud page, where they are doing some kind of Advent Calendar countdown

https://soundcloud.com/indecentnoise/2025-giveaway-day-5

For Day 5, I’m finally letting loose one of the most seeked-out remixes in 2025. This is my unreleased version of New Order’s legendary anthem “Blue Monday.”

This one has been in my vault for a long time, saved only for the right moments on stage and now it’s yours. No promos, no official release. Just a gift for the fans who’ve been asking for it for months.

WTF? A song called We Met Bernard Sumner At A Christmas Party Last Night. From 2015 apparently. The lyrics mostly list New Order song titles.

Ah, Marshaux.

Nice to hear the Christmas thing again. Yeah we definitely discussed this on the forum before - probably ten years ago!

I think the latter.

From Instagram Phoenician Order Music say:

Happy to have our customization of “True Faith” by New Order in the intro of the trailer for Industry S4. Big thanks to @motivecreative and all involved!

They seem to specialize in these sort of edits for trailers etc.

EDIT: Also here's their website

Perfect Kiss 7" ( instrumental segments of) in Marty Supreme. Watched it today. Chalamet and Paltrow star. It's set in 1952 but has music from the 80s in, Tears For Fears etc also. A film set in the 50s but with 80s music? Okaaaay...
