I know, it makes me wonder whether The_blank_from_hell was right about the OP being Peter Hook. He certainly seemed concerned about Hook's legacy since MC's great reviews, like no other poster I've read on here...
Hehe...interesting post from our nom de plume?
Tell me Mr Hook, what do you actually think of the album? It's rather good isn't it?
I'm sure some complicated programme could analyse teh use of language and tell you if it is or isn't Mr Hook.
Sure sounds weird however you slice it.
Also, having seen so many bands change lineup over the years, I think we're all used to lineup changes over time, aren't we? The Cure used to have a different one for every tour FFS!
There is an age discrepancy of at least 10 years but then who posts their real details online? Me neither. However with the age thing this would have to be a deliberate attempt to mislead as opposed to an obvious nom de plume. And I doubt Hooky, with ego the size of Jupiter, would pose as a lesser being???
Well I'm no native speaker, but the comment reminded me in style, grammar and content of some of Hookys early blogs before they got somehow proofread. And the Ralf Little reference is quite insightful into the band, even more the "tooth ache" pseudonym, didn't they write down "true faith" as "tooth ache" in some of their 80ies handwritten setlists?
Obviously it must be hard for him with all the positive reviews, and the q legends award, and how the band came back better and stronger without him. I really don't know what made him believe they can't do without him, maybe he started to believe his god-like status with the rise of social media and it constantly flattering him as an indie celebrity.

Anyway the message seems to be - don't confuse me with facts
Anyone like to guess what Hooky will do next?
Disc Jockey > Club Owner > Book 'writer' > Tribute band > ?
Probably more of the same self-promotion. Not sure if he's famous enough for that jungle celebrity shite. "I used to be in a band you know...."

He is exactly the person formats like 'i am a star get me out of here' are looking for - bigmouthed and his heart on his sleeve, and probably desperate enough to see it as a chance to "set things straight". isn't there a major news announcement from him on twitter for next week?

That will be the dates of the Butlins tour I guess.
I'd quite like him to ditch the tribute band crap and do an album of original Light material. The current band is almost entirely Monaco anyway, so why not make a third Monaco album.
Quite happy for him to do three hour sets, but when the 'newest' song he plays in 28 years old I don't see how it can have a future.
