That's interesting. I read in Smash Hits that Eddie had a frequent traveller railcard, so that kind of makes sense.

Perhaps they made a den in the woods and live on stoats, reliving the old days near the camp fire.

i've never really liked the movement sleeve to be honest. i really don't understand the concept of it at all.

i quite like the covers for international and retro to be honest, i don't see the problem with them. is it that we're all being picky now? lol

Last night, Johnny Giles and I attended the Design Museum in London to see Saville's work and all of these sleeves and original stuff such as the sheet for Brotherhood was there and it was a great exhibition, especially for NO fans.

586 and Murder sleeves do have meanings, but it comes from Saville's understanding of former artists and their styles and conventions. I know very little about art, but the sleeves all have their own stories. If anyone can get to go, go.

I enjoyed it. IMHO though, Power Corruption & Lies sleeve does nothing for me. It leaves me cold. All the others are fine. My favourite is probably Atmosphere or his Republic work (which is giant mural size at the exhibition)

If your talking about art, then low life must be among the worst, but it has steve on the front, and that makes it one of the best!

International was the most abundant release over here in Germany - it appears every record store stocked it. I really don't like the cover design at all. The job looks like it was thought up in one lunchbreak. Retro also was very poor, I don't know how juxtaposing a mirror ball and a golden eagle says anything about New Order at all.

But I was also very disappointed with the concept for the Get Ready album. It appears that the best of Peter Saville's sleeve art for New Order releases is now long behind him. He is effectively a design icon of the 80s, and no further. Other younger designers appear to have stolen his thunder and come up with far better album sleeve art. People like the Designers Republic and Me Company have always prided themselves on creating unique and distinctive album artwork.

Wide choice in this poll.State of the Nation sleeve is pretty poor.
