Guys

Suffering the ravages of old age I am struggling to recall the support act at this gig which was the warm up for the Academy gig a couple of days later. They sounded and looked a little like the Wonderstuff when they broke through a year or so later. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Did you witness NO perform 'Do the Ostrich Feather'?

As for the warm-up band, you'll have to ask Al Jarvis - he's on holiday at the moment but he usually knows a few things about live gigs. - he went to a couple in the 80's (2 I think).

:hat:

Yes, it was The Wonder Stuff.

Didn't go to this but have heard Al talking about this one. I believe they got a rough ride.

the introduction to neworder on the recording of this show is "if you came to hear acoustic music, GO HOME, cuz this is NewOrder!"

Yes, it was The Wonder Stuff.

I was there, they got a load of shit off the New Order fans. Me and my mate Biz (Bedouin Ascent) went and thought the bass drum had a really interesting sound. The Stuffies were really good and this gig isn't down on their list of gigs so that is why I was having second thoughts.

I do remember them playing Do the Ostrich but it's a hell of a long time ago. Only found out about the gig 4 hours before it happened. Really intimate gig, I was 3 people from the front.

Cheers everyone for confirming this.
