Originally posted by FourFortyFive John is a big fan of the band and although I don't really like "Run Wild" that much, he does.At the MOVE Festival Barney talked (some of this is on the DVD) about the new album and the reaction to it saying that he like the new stuff alot but could understand "our" reaction to some of the tracks. He felt that it hadn't had any time to "mature" (i'm sure that's what he said) in the minds of the fans.I would love to hear certain things that simply won't be released. It's not that I personally feel superior to anyone but it just so happens that I have been lucky enough to get a little closer to the band and the process of this albums construction than many and with having worked on the forthcoming DVD, it was obvious that I was going to find out a few bits of news here & there and I was approached by the press office and asked to pass some stuff on. If I repeated everything I was told then I'd be cut off pretty quickly so I don't. It is better in the long run that I play a straight game where any contact I have with the band is concerned.

What do you think about Retro? worth buying?

I'll buy it. I have to. Its genetic i think.

I guess I will too. Damn genetics.....

I mean, it's a box set full of stuff, and the live disc is just too tempting to pass up. I am another useless drone....

It's worth buying for the live disc..

The rest.. I wouldn't pay that much for getting:

Brutal Confusion (Original 12") Confusion (Koma & Bones Mix) Paradise (Robert Racic Mix) Regret (Sabres Slow 'N' Low Mix) Here to Stay (Extended Instrumental)

on CD..

The positive site of the live CD.. Elegia is the first missing track of the BBC Live album, the only missing one is Subculture if I remember right...

What makes me sick, after waiting for them to put Brutal on something else and to avoid buying the Beach's sountrack, now I still have Such A Good Thing which is only available on WIM2002 which is USELESS if you remove that track...

I'm still resisting.. but I was expecting this to pop somewhere! And if I wait too much, the damn WIM2002 will cost a fortune to get :(

The missing tracks on the BBC Glasto '87 disc are:

Elegia Ceremony Subculture Sunrise

Ceremony, Subculture and Sunrise are on a BBC Transcription Service LP pressing of the show, so Elegia is the last missing track from this gig to surface from a professionally recorded source.

Have you got the BBC TRANSCRIPTION SERVICE LP anyone?

Amazon.co.uk have Retro for £27.99 and they say it's due out on 9th December, by the way. Anyone seen it cheaper anywhere?

Well, I believe people have seen it cheaper somewhere else - on pre-order on HMV. Unfortunately you'd now need a time machine to take advantage of this.

Oh - aren't amazon offering free p&p at the moment? So their probably works out cheaper than opal.

this has probably already been discussed, but i'm tired and the task of going through aaaall the old threads is very frightening to me...are the versions of "ceremony" and "temptation" on disc 1 the original 7" ones or the rerecorded ones?
