I wonder if this means they have been rehearsing it again in the studio?

It must be getting on for nearly 10 years since they last played TPK.

Ah well, we can live in hope that it gets a re-introduction in any future live shows.

New Order have indeed been working on new material at Stephen & Gillians farm near Macclesfield.

Maybe I should pop down there and say hello to them! I'm only a couple of miles outside Macclesfield myself!

I'm sure Gillian is playing in the sessions. She's not touring or doing promotion because of her kids (they ARE more important) but she can still work on the new stuff at home. She's an important part of NO, in my opinion.

Exactly. She takes a beating on this site but I think New Order are at their best when the synth is part of the melody. More synth on the next album please. Maybe the Chems could produce.

anybody can play synth keyboards, why would people assume that she has some special skill, like i doubt they stick to the stage lineup in the studio anyway, c'mon. they probably have someone to deal with all the recent tech stuff and protools anyway.
she is prolly like the mom, trying to make sure that they don't overdose on drugs or bring back any junky prostitutes.

She is an important part of NO because we only know NO as Barney, Hooky, Stephen, and GILLIAN. We hear her contributions to the music every time we play a NO song. The songs are all credited to New Order as writers so she's in there somewhere. NO would be really different if she hadn't joined and for all we know it MIGHT have been a pile of doody.

As for "They probably have someone to deal with all the recent tech stuff and protools anyway.", women are just as capable of using current technology in ANY field as men are. Both need training - the ability to use something doesn't come through osmosis.

Give Gillian a break! Let her record with the group at the farm and someone else can tour if she can't or doesn't want to leave the girls.

Gillian is still a member of NO so stop trying to write her off and stop ragging on her contributions to the music.

Indeed Andy, Electronic's Twisted Tenderness was made in a similar rockier vein than its predecessors. I think both Barney and Hooky are more interested in guitars than in computers these days. Sort of a "back to the basics" exercise and do not reckoned it would have been any different with Gillian on board. Having said that, Gillian is an integral part of New Order and the group is poorer without her involvement. I hope she'll be in the next album (although the protents aren't good, vide Guardian Interview)

what a great interview. you can really tell how well they are all getting along. but most importantly, i cant believe they are already working on a new album. I am so freakin excited i could just spit!!! its so cool to see that new order arent like some other bands that make u wait 3 or 4 yrs between records. at least before they had a reason not to record; cuz they had broken up. but now it seems theyre back on track, lovin what theyre doin, and I think we the fans are gonna be the benficiaries of it all cuz we're gonna get a great album out of all this. I NO!!!
