Good day to all and sundial.

Direct from a kind gentleman at 'His Masters Vocal Column': Retro 4 x CD box set 'to be released Mon. Dec. 2nd'. That's a definite 'in the HMV store' date as relayed from the order computer of many bright lights and words and digits and complex coding systems.

£35.99 UK Sterling, however, the kind sir who provided the information indicated this product may well be directed straight to HMV's 'Christmas Box Set' section at a 'reduced price' (that's from day 1). He stated; 'I think it will, so don't order it now for 35 sheets ... because that would be a bad move and perhaps a tad daft'.

No specifics on any accompanying '4:45' previously suggested spectacular disc of rare joy, in fact, no information was highlighted other than the expected CD Box Set 'Retro' release by New Order. That's not to say it isn't included, or to contradict info-man in his prime. It will just have to be a nice surprise like discovering a coin within a Christmas pudding.

So Tuesday, for those in the UK for definite, and for those many eager duck hunters, remember to head to Santa's HMV grotto before you go to 'N' in the racks next to New World Order and Nazareth. If your struggling, look for two 'Movement' albums upside down.

One small point of minor interest; one person had already visited the HMV (large store) I visited, to pre-book this most full of packages. He or she will be cursing themselves when many of us purchase the same item with a pound off.

A round of applause for that post i think, especially the "two movements upside down" bit.

Hey Huntsy,

Just ordered mine online for £28, on hmv.co.uk.

And they mention the famous 5th disc...

Same here Buster, however I am mightily worried because in the confirmation of my order there is no mention of the 5th disc.

I'm waiting to see if it will also be available in other countries like Mr Scott stated, so I might just end with no copy at all....

And buying 2.. well, maybe it will be easy to find a buyer if that happens...

Which reminds me... eil.com has New Order on the front with the Retro artwork, maybe they have the bonus disc, I don't know.. didn't pay attention.

Ah what the hell.. I ordered, and while being at it, I ordered the Confusion 2002 CD (even if it's only edited versions)

New Order - Retro: Box: 4cd New Order CD 27.99 1 27.99
New Order: Arthur Baker - Confusion Remixes 02 New Order CDS 3.49 1 3.49
Sub Total £31.48
VAT Refunded £-4.69
Shipping £3.50
Total amount payable £30.29

So £30.29 for having it delivered to my house, it's not that bad... I'm actually paying less than anyone in the UK because the price of the shipping is less than the VAT

P/S: Even though it says 4CD, the bonus disc IS listed with the 4 other CDs, so they better not send me a normal pack :nono:

It's interesting how 1 product can be obtained in so many different ways with such a wide variation of prices. Buster K at 28 sheets and Spotted Nick at 30 golden coins exclusive of Value Added Taxation direct to his houseboat in Quebec.

I'm going to take my chances and just walk into the shop. If the first 1k are shipped with the bonus beauty surely the first couple of days will be ripe for the picking. Next year it may become tricky to track down like a mouse hunt through tunnels but for now, I hope it's safe to go back into the water.

£35.99 seems quite good for a couple of 70pence CD's and a knocked out pamphlet describing a few songs we've already got.

I might pick up Moby's latest album en route ... I've ran out of cat litter.
