Reading the thread about True Faith old vs. newer has set me thinking. Besides True Faith (and it's pretty clear which way the vote is going), what do people think about the massacre of BLT and the total ruining of TBTHOG ?

Why ruining "Touched by the Hand of God" ??? I do like the new Peel Session-Version. The sequencer-bassline rocks !!! :guitar:

It sounds tinny and weak live though !

All ruined - Touched, BLT, True Faith.

Wimped down instead of beefed up.

Originals are always better because they capture the performance when the song means something to the band. When they re-record it, it's usually better technically but has no soul.

new versions... do you know what would make me happy? if for ONE gig they turn the computers and sequencers off and play ALL GIG as a "human" band. it would be nice listening to dance tracks in a different way, for example. some of those may sound pretty well. because sometimes I feel NO concerts became to damn synthetic for my taste. the difference between this and a taped concert is the source of the sound (sequencer, sampler, computer, DAT...). then all you have to do is press a button anyway. they´re running out of emotion on some live tracks. they obviously don´t want to play BLT or TF in these "guitar" days they´re living. they don´t seem confortable playing some songs. everyone can notice that. so why wouldn´t they turn the whole thing off? ps: I sent my 100 post and became a "member of the republic". how do I feel about that? mmmm, feels nice! :) but if I spent 1 year on posting 100 times then I´ll become a "low life" in 50 years. maybe I´m still alive at 76 and listening to NO. who knows :)
