Love it or Loathe it?

LOVE IT

A thread MUST be started due to its non inclusion in the 'ultimate poll' as this tune so blatently encapulates the true splendour of NewOrder :)

(and the eye candy in the video was pretty hot as well!! )

How about a separate category ? That of bland indifference ? It wouldn't worry me if I never heard it again, yet I would be fairly pleased to hear it live again.

I had a muffled C-90 recording of a BBC radio show which played Round the Bend and Guilded Pantaloons about 2 wks. prior to release ... it was the first taste of Technique, and boy did it sound good.

Never again will NO better the amazing synth arps. on R&R - the end of which is enough to halt mammals from crossing the savanna.

:hat:

I prefer the 94 version, does this make me a bad person?

I've always enjoyed the extended mix, I've only heard this version (from a tape) until I bought Technique.

I like the "Techno Sounds", I like the single version INTRO, and I LIKE VERY MUCH the ending of the album version...

Give me a mix with all those together and I'll wet my pants :evil4:

But I still prefer Run.. am I allowed or should I ask John Denver before? :nonono:

Isn't it just the '89 seven inch version?

Upon first hearing Technique, that was the song I felt was most in need of a remix. I love the Ben Grosse mix and I feel that Stephen Hagues remix is the best thing he's ever done for them.

I'll also admit that when I first heard Technique, R&R didn't immediately jump out at me, and I was a bit surprised when it was released as a single. That having been said, I really enjoyed the 12" mixes, and as a consequence, more than one of them have ended up on mix tapes. LOVE IT.

they did an awsome version on reading1993. in fact is the only track on the bootleg of the show that´s worth listen several times.

Tiny differences (no vocal echoes during the verse, with an extra Hooky guitar bit in their place), but essentially, yes. The Stephen Hague produced 12" mix of this is by far the best version.

You got my vote!! I loved this track from the beginning. Catchy lyrics and great background instrumentation. Deffo one of my faves. Now I'm off to find the SDM thread! :D

i always thought it was one of the blandest songs on Technique emotionally, and a mediocre single in their oeuvre.
