Dope, drink, e, speed, coke
Do you think they have shaped New Orders image. What are your opinions on these drugs, ie do you condone the use of them. I personally can (sometimes) have a great time without drugs, but theres nothing like being off yer tits, and listening to "Round&Round(AlbumVersion)" whilst your jaw is wrapped around your ankles and you hold a bong in one hand, and a drink in the other.
I've never taken drugs myself I must confess - I'm a bit of a clean living lad and the notion that I would be the one on the billboard poster campaign after dying during 'my first trip' post dropping a tab scared me off. 'Huntsman, he told everyone he'd probably die after his first e and he did' - cue picture of the Hunts during a bad school day not looking very cool 30ft wide near a really busy set of traffic lights.
My mates have now given up trying to kill me. They keep their drugs to themselves now. Drugs appear to be an integral part of the New Order songwriting creation process. Temptation and Dreaming about Attacks are both drug-influenced... I'd guess Fine Time is equally as bonged out. In fact, the legnedary Technique album I suspect is based on drugs. Like The Beatles before them, New Order's music I'd guess is better with a smidge of coke or a splattering of weasel-dust up the snout.
I bought a packet of herbal cigarettes when I first met me bird in 1995. The mixture is very brittle and whilst I was puffing away on one the end fell off onto her dad's carpet. Fortunately her dog came and ate the evidence. I've still got that packet of ciggies in the kitchen draw. It survived 6 years and a moving house incident.
Does this give the Huntsman an edge? - or do herbal ciggies only imply I'm a bit of a toss-ball?

I was having family&girl problems at the time I took my 1st E. I couldn`t believe how nice everyone was. However, with hindsight, I would never have gone near the fucking things. (As anyone who has taken E before will tell you.)
Jeez, you don't hold back do you Facs. Undoubtledly early new order were very drug influenced-Think of a song like 'ecstasy' of PCL..the Acid influence is very strong
Likewise Technique is as much an E album as Bummed in many ways-possibly in a more 'post-club' way
On the other hand, to me Get Ready is clearly an album not written on drugs. Maybe alcohol, but not narcotics...

You're obviously not getting the good stuff (I thought the paramilitaries had the supply of narcotics sewn up over your way so you didn't get any dodgy gear off scrote dealers?). Still, you're only young, so you'll learn. Why the 'E for England' sign-off then? 'specially when you're not from England, and don't like E. I suppose it was a bit of a fib - I`m fucking geting wiped off my tits tonight (Doves). Whoooo-hooo
... now I didn't say I hadn't tried glue, or in fact gas now did I. In my day E was a luxury, solvents and chemicals sucked from a tinny was all the rage. Nothing beats a gas head-banger moment... not that I would ever urge anyone to do this.
But I must admit, I smoke bongs like frig when wiped out and this helps the comedown - speed also does the same. However, be prepared for a nasty ashtray taste in the mouth, and a bout of depression for 2-3 days.

Thats my point - Ill stop them soon, I don`t want to die too young. I take on average 4 on Friday nights, folowed by 6 or 7 on a Saturday (not all back-to-back) It is irresponsible to think they are safe and harmless, but I have made my choice.

The trouble with drugs in the UK is the stuff thats added to them to make them go a little further by the dealers. Thats why I only ever do weed these days, skunk if I can get it, my dreams are not my own after a nice bit of skunk!
Indeed, but what mug would then pay for something like that? This is where the problem surely arises? And, unfortunately people WILL continue to buy in such circumstances, which is where legislation can help. I mean, who many people died in the US as a result of Prohibition?Best just to have mates as drug dealers in the first instance! Has always worked out nicely for me.

I agree, same over here. The Paramilitaries take care of Rogue and Dodgy dealers.
Same over here in London, to an extent. You get the same faces dealing week in / week out, all under the protection of the bouncers so you always know what's what / who's who?
Read an interesting article in Mixmag about 5 years ago where they bought drugs in East then West Belfast clubs, supposedly under the protection of totally separate paramilitaries and found the E's all hailed from the same batch in Amsterdam. Meaning that somewhere down the line the UVF and IRA had co-operated on one particular importation of drugs? Perhaps they were all E'd up at the time and forgot their hostlilities?!

I agree to an extent, James. I never claimed that it was safe whether you get it form a regular source or not. it is still safer than buying in clubs etc though
