Retro:

a high - the lovely 17 minute Elegia, nice and clean soundng!

a low - the glue doesn't hold the plastic holder for disc 3 in place.

Over to you lot for yours...

High: The live Perfect Kiss take on Disc5 - reminds me just why I love that song & why it's done so well in the recent poll. :D

Low: I would have liked The Happy One to have made an appearance, but to be fair, I can't grumble (not on the day I just bought a Neworder box set & concert DVD - I mean come on !?!) :D :D

High: Elegia/Temptation 98/Paradise remix

Low: No Run/Original 1963/Dream Attack

Get the Palatine Sample, et voilà, you'll have the Happy One on CD.

Problem is, there is no "whole" version, just the cut down snippets from Substance 89.

The only known full version was played live by Peter Hook at the Other Side of Midnight.

I've now got an original version of BRUTAL on CD !!

And to think I was perilously close to getting the Beach soundtrack at one point  as i only had a live version and a version on MP3

Havent listened to much else yet, apart from the first two tracks off the live CD

Im saving the Bonus CD till last :D

Personally I think the fan disk is a really good collection. Of course there are going to be missed songs because the fans like more than 15 songs. The ones they put on there work very well for me.

I've already spent almost $50 for myself this holiday season (24HPP and Finsbury) so I'm gonna hold off for about another week or so until I can get my heartfelt gift certificates to Wal-Mart paid for (nothing says "Merry Christmas!" quite like a $5 gift certificate)

HIGH'S: FAN and CLUB disks Here to stay instrumental, Eligia (17 min version), Temptation 98.

LOW's: I have better quality bootlegs than those featured on the LIVE disk, would have preferred the MOVE gig in its entirety from Old Trafford this year, or the Manchester Apollo reunion from 1998. My other low is the lack of N.O. involvement with the project, and the shitty booket, makes the JOY DIVISION box set look stunning compaired to this.

Nice touch with the dedication to Rob Gretton though,

High: That it got halfway around the world and to me on Monday. That and The Perfect Kiss on disc 5.

Low: I would have liked to see Mr. Disco on the fan disc.

"Retro" is already available in California. My favourite record store in Berkeley has several imported copies for $54.95 each. Haven't bought one of those yet, because I ordered one at HMV.

I ordered from HMV, but I paid for the faster delivery. It was worth it, not having to wait.

Would that be Mod Lang?

Highs: "Temptation" 12" in glorious digital sound, that "Paradise" remix and the full version of "Elegia". :)

Lows: The price I've paid for the faster delivery and the Brazilian taxes. :(

Nice touch to give ATR a namecheck on the booklet. JS should have been on there as well though.

High: original 12" versions of Temp and Conf, the Sabres remix of Regret, TPK video version, full length version of Best & Marsh.

Low: the mix up (again!) of Mesh and Cries & Whispers and yet another cd-version of the worst song ever: bloody Such A Wank Thing.

Read the booklet. They haven't got it mixed up.

Couldn't be bothered with that yet. I understand we learn some new facts then.
