tried to find it in amsterdam but nowhere had it that i went (they said was due last week but not delivered) came back to blighty & picked it up today & had to go to virgin, hmv, wh smiths, wooplworths & 2 independants before finally found it for sale. guess this one won't be hitting the top 30 dvd charts anytime soon...

Shame.. cause when 316 came out they made a big fuss about it in my local HMV i think it even made their top ten rack !!!

cdwow still have my copy as 'pending despatch' despite them usually sending out CD's before the release date.

Oh well, Grand Theft Auto will just have to remain on my PS2 a wee bitty longer.

btw Hibster - I hope your name doesn't suggest any leanings towards Edinburgh's second team?

I was going to buy 511 from cdwow myself as i saw it a whole ago for only 13.99 but when i went to order it at the wkd it was no longer in their list and didnt exist to order!!

So I ordered from play.com instead and payed 14.99

Yeah, I checked the site earlier and like you say it isn't listed anymore. Perhaps they've just given up trying to deliver it...

I had difficulty getting it too, I did get it last night (Monday) from HMV Trafford Centre, but I had to look hard for it, and certainly I didn't see it in any of the other large music retailers. Weird cos the Box set was being plugged like mad in all the shops I went in.

P.s. who the hell transferred the Dolby Digital 5.1 to PCM Stereo, its awful, they have made a huge mess of it. I thought my disk was faulty but no, it really is that bad.

That's a fair shout regarding promotion.

If London had spent a bit of dosh they could have marketed Monday in the UK as a 'NewOrderDay' so to speak and perhaps even offered tie-in's if folk bought Retro and 5 11 together. Would have made the perfect introduction for the unitiated (uninformed?) to get into New Order.

Definatly... at 51tracks (60 including the bonus cd) this is the biggest release of their career!! tie that in with the DVD and the lure of a new album and you've got quite a lucrative campaign....

Remember all the stops they pulled out when Republic was released back in '93 there was a HUGE shop marketing campaign and national press/radio advertising for it.

I remember OurPrice and Virgin went doolally over it!!

Obviously London wanted to make a good initial impression, its just a shame it hasnt lasted....

London I think now regard New Order as a cult band i.e. one who will have a relatively large hardcore audience but unlikely to have a mass market appeal. They obviously don't feel that there's a big enough return for an expensive marketing campaign.

A great pity, knowledge of the Order should be on the national curriculum ;)
