i think Martin Gore is brilliant. i think almost anything he's written is better than Sooner Than You Think and Shellshock, etc. i mean, songs like Stripped and Enjoy the Silence are masterpieces of synth pop, IMHO.

i mean, i like NO much more than DM, and i think they have a dozen or so songs better than the best two DM ones, but they're different types of bands. i think Martin Gore is pretty damn brilliant for the kind of synth pop he writes. now, as a ROCK writer (i.e. Songs of Faith and Devotion), he's a whole different story (that album was saved only by Alan Wilder).
