In part homage to Jordan L and his distressing Retro loss.

Who else has lost or broken NewOrder items, and what stories do you have to tell about the episode?

Fortunatly my worst incident was standing on my Spooky Digipack and busting up the case, oh and spilling coffee on my 7track GAWI cd cover wasnt partically clever neither.

I hate those digipacks. It didn't take standing on to ruin my World digipack. It's falling apart from old age. I wonder how long that 'nice' Retro folding shoebox will last.

Searching my old vinyls, I found out that my copy of The Perfect Kiss 12" is missing... I probably lost it - or someone stole it, but I don't think it's the case - when moving from one apartment to another.

Fuckin' shit. :\pissedoff:

A few years ago, it rained on my bedroom - my fault, as the window wasn't closed as it was supposed to be. Turns out the damned raindrops fell... on my CD shelf! Ruined items: Movement PCL Low-life Brotherhood Technique

Bad luck, right? Fortunatelly, it was just the sleeves that got wet... Good to me that this was 1990, so that was my complete New Order discography on CD!

Sadly left my 7" Shellshock in a girl's room when I was a student. Couldn't remember which girl :(

My copy of technique on CD dissappeared at uni, i never found it and had to buy a new one. My copy of best-of is split down the side where it was stood on... and finally my rest-of and republic have the booklets pages glued together after my brother took revenge on me for god knows what...

Lent the BLT 12" to Baldrick ages ago, he swears he doesnae have it, it's the only one I'm missing from my collection. Funnily enough I received WIM as a present from an ex, needless to say it was accidentally destroyed by a cigarrette lighter, came in handy as a frisbee fer the dog though:lol:

I swear that my Lowlife CD is some sort of mystical, indestructible wonder. I bought it used, and it's been through a lot. The metalic stuff on the CD is flaking off at the inside and outside edges, I've found it under the seat of my car quite a few times, yet it still plays perfectly.

While I'd been moving around post-college I left some stuff at home including a 1981-1982 ep poster, lowlife uk tour poster, fine time uk poster, technique uk poster, no substance uk poster... these were all thrown out by over-zealous father on a clear up mission at home a couple of years back!!

I wasn't able to bring myself to check all my vinyl shipped from the UK when I caught up with it in Australia last year... the first four 12" pieces I pulled out to spot check the delivery were a couple of Bowie RCA originals and Round & Round/Round & Remix 12s - all sleeves given a battering... couldn't look at any more... Regret CD single went walkabouts too...

So nice to know that I'm not alone in my loss ;)

For my part i can add: 15 years ago, me & my mate went to the pub in his battered old mini (we'd both just past our tests about this time) and I took opportunity to play him this great new album on the way.

When we got out of the pub, he'd lost a window, a leather jacket and a cassette player.

I'd lost Substance cassette 1 ! :( Will these bastards not Leave Me Alone

Must be the old 'Factory' pressing then...

I somehow managed many moons back to crack my PC&L CD from the center hole all the way across the disc. Looks ugly as hell but oddly enough, it still plays like a wild banshee hopped up an acid!

It also happens to be the only NO CD that I haven't replaced once or twice over the years...maybe this disc was just meant to be in my hands or somethin'.

Had an employee at work many years ago and I lent to him my Joy Division Here are the young men video . In return I received New Orders PFD video. Had to sack him a few months later so the videos stayed swapped. Who ended up with the best deal here?

It could be worse. You could have left your Shellcock.

My current copy of Technique is scratched. It stalls towards the end of Vanishing Point, the start of Mr Disco and halfway through Round and Round.

I bought my Technique at a second hand store for about $7 US, not in good shape at all though  Plays fine in every CD player, except it skips on my computer. Hey, you can't have it all though

I had just bought the 12 inch of Round & Round after a 3 year search. I was so proud of it, I displayed the record on my wall. In a twist of fate it had come down off the wall to land on the floor heater below... you can figure the rest out.
