I prefer the original version which I have on 12" vinyl. Bass sounds different - can't describe it - less "acoustic". Guitar sounds different too.

I started collecting New Order in 1984 and was initially trying to obtain every 7" and 12" release by them. Since then, I've tried to obtain every UK 7" (I'm missing a couple) and cover every b-side, and every relevant mix available on CD. If the mix isn't available on CD, I would get it on vinyl.

As for the original 12" version of Ceremony, I don't think it is that radically different but it would be nice to have on CD someday.

I thought it sounds a little bit slower...or is it just my turntable?..... Yeah, the bass is more prominent...almost 'woofy'...

It's been widely available on the web for months now. Just have a look at the other recent threads, and I'm sure you'll find a link.

Thanks for the email Rocket - I've explained in it why I'm puzzled as to where the packet may have got to - I think it's the postmen in our area being typically clueless again - I wouldn't hold it past them for getting addresses or even house numbers mixed up.

Will check up on this and let you know - but thanks again for your generosity mate.

Thanks to the enteprising generosity of a certain Rocket Mick on the forum I now have two welcome - if somewhat odd - additions to my JD/NO pile: a live JD gig on one and some New Order tracks on the other....

Many thanks to you mister!! Much appreciated

Well, I now have three further proud additions to my previosly unworthy list...

To these 10 items I posterd earlier:

  1. Blue Monday 1988 7" single
  2. Bizzarre LoveTriangle 12" maxi single
  3. Round And Round 7" single
  4. Regret CD
  5. World Price Of Love CD
  6. True Faith 94 CD
  7. Crystal (maxi single CD)
  8. Substance 1987 CD album
  9. The Best Of New Order CD album
  10. Get Ready CD album...

I can now add

  1. Here To Stay CD
  2. 24 Hour Party People Soundtrack CD
  3. Salvation Soundtrack (LP - European import)

I'm now hoping to get hold of the three Peel sessions albums that have been reissued lately in the UK but there is a store in Boston that deals with many UK and European release imports so hopefully they may be able to get hold of these soon.

Whooo! that's mighty grand!

Well, I've finally regained consciousness after passing out the other night (bottle in hand) enough to remember where I placed that priceless cassette I had of New Order in 1987 (the full Glastonbury set in glorious muddy wow-and-flutter expletive-drenched glory)

Of course this was later issued as the rather cruddy live album on Strange Fruit in 1992 or something. But at least I now have the treasured warts and' all documentation of just why exactly I decided to spend nearly 75 minutes caned off me face sitting on a warm hillock swilling the brown stuff and listening to these blatant Wire copyists going "digga digga digga" and throwing the most hilariously UN-rock 'n' roll shapes on stage in the distance. Excellent. Shame about the ever so crappy beige cassette inlay that came with my copy (a bargain at the time at £4) - where's the imagination in that for danny's sakes??
