For those who don't know, there are two books of cuttings available plotting JD and NO's history in the eyes of the music press from the beginning up until about 1984 time.
I have finally managed to get these scanned in and into Adobe Acrobat format, such that anyone sufficiently interested could have a copy.
BE WARNED however, both files are 15Mb in size, so modem users are going to be looking at 90 mins or so each to download.

Funny you should post about the 2 books, the other night I was reading the copied versions that you sent me a couple of years ago
Exellent stuff - the only problem is that I don't think I'll be able to see the complete download of such an enormous document if it's going to take up to 90 minutes!

Thanks very much for this. I had both Parts 1 and 2 as a student - but somehow Part 2 got lost in a house move ! Now I have it again - brings back memories ! Didn't even take to too long to print in draft. Just need a bulldog clip now - my stapler is not man enough for the job !!

My husband and I bought these on Ebay last year! agh! oh well, it's nice to have the ones we have. Good job, what a fine service you've done posting these. They are wonderful.
There's a section in one that reminds me of an old locked up thread here. I don't want to cause a scandal but it is pretty cute. It's where NO have a big pop hit with Blue Monday and the music papers make an ironic to-do about the ridiculousness of the notion of New Order as a teenybopper pop sensation, given their reputation as Deep Dark High Art With A Past. Like caricatures of barney and hooky with fake smiles plastered on their otherwise Serious faces. And some very young girls holding up a NO poster with the caption, "they know who they're going to see. It's Kajagoogoo, right?" And a fake teenybopper letter to the editor about "I saw them on Top of the Pops and the singer is cute. i know they sing sad songs but can't they just smile more and sing something a little cheerier like Pinky Blue Monday?" And this one is for real: a picture of Steve with his favorites and qualities, including "cheerful". Seems true.
okay, enough of that.
Old Blue this is just great! I've got both copies and at some point I will also get round to scanning in all my other articles and clippings as well. I'll have to compare these with the books I've got, cos I think even though there were two volumes they still had different versions.
Have you scanned much over stuff?

Thanks for this Old Blue old chap, had the first one which has all but disintegrated now! My only moral issue is how to justify over 300 pieces of paper from the works printer, and should I use the top quality paper.
