Rob exuded coolness, ok, ok, some people might have mistaken it for arrogance, but his dry humour and wit always went down well with me, and that guy who played him in the film portrayed him superbly (well from what I've seen of Rob in interviews anyway)

hooky. he has as much attitude (and more) than any of the others and even he plays the bass like a god!
Gillian - she seemed to always keep it together on stage and never threw a fit when all around her was chaos (those dodgy early synthesizers that kept breaking down or starting the wrong song (e.g. the Truth/Everything's Gone Green intro on the Taras version of Temptation 
)
Gotta go with Gillian, too. She's like John Entwistle - she's the anchor and nothing distracts her. I almost picked Johnny Marr because he's THE guitar god, though...
I don't know enough about Rob Gretton or Martin Hannett to make a decision...

good call. i voted Ian, but she was my next choice. she's fabulous and sassy in a subtle sort-of-way.
Why didn't anyone else vote for Martin? Without him JD would have been playing drums the same way drums have been played for the last 20 000 years...and they wouldn't be special!
Of New Order, I would have to say Gillian, how many women could have taken being surrounded by those dork males for so long? :D

the mullett phase is particularly hard to look past. to me it always signifys pick-up trucks and lots of malt liquor. yet, hooky does come out unscathed!
