my hate of morrissey is well known with some people. he kept me away from listening to the smiths for a very long time, and even at this point i can't bring myself to buy a smiths record.

Sorry, can't agree. The Fall are another of my all-time favourite bands : the guys a hero of mine. Mind you, I'd also like to kick him in the bollocks for pissing off Craig Scanlon and Steve Hanley so much they had to leave the band - I think MES has a group of 12 year old musicians now-ah !

Tony Wilson - but I'm going by what my UK copy of 24 Hour Party People says because I still don't know that much about him.
Runners up - I can't stand Morrisey's singing and Mark E Smith's shitty attitude always pissed me off back in the 80s when I cared enough to want to listen to him and to find out what he sounded like. Morrisey's voice kept me from liking The Smiths and I'll never forgive him for that.
