'Cause I was watching USA (the very patriotic network....well, not reallY) and during the commercial for their original programming "Slow Jam" was blaring away. 
I've had a soft spot for this song, the lyrics are crap but it rocks more than we've been used to NO doing over the years. Anyway, just wanted to share...
Yes, it was actually nice to hear that song during the ads, I sure wasn't expecting it when I caught part of U-571 last week.
There's nowt wrong with Slow Jam : beats a couple of other tracks on Get Ready hands down :)
I don't remember this song. But I do remember Rock the Shack which was way too unstable and chaotic to listen to.

as for the USA network picking it up, it does have that 'power chord' sound to it, doesn't it.
Yeah. It's a pretty good track, actually. To be honest, the only track on Get Ready I didn't like was Run Wild.
It's an embarrassment to the name of New Order - how they can justify turning out such dross as Slow Jam when you consider the stuff they left off the album is still beyond me - though I do suspect it was included for Septic Radio.
It was supposed to be a single in Oz, and the video was gonna be from the live shoot of Liverpool (from that gig purely because it was 2nd in the set and the band wouldn't have been 'sweaty' by then!). Dunno what became of the single though - I spoke to the video producer about it last September.. .
I actually like the track, though think the Lamacq version is again infinitely better than the Get Ready track (but I think that of all the Lamacq tracks).. .

are better than the album versions.... i know Jarvo! it beats me why they pulled out better performances for R1 than they did for their album

I figure it's down to their live performances. They knock something up in a studio, then stick it out on release. But when they come to playing the thing live they maybe tighten it up a bit and restructure it. The Lamacq versions are more faithful to the live versions than the Get Ready stuff are - in the same way Temptation and Confusion 87 mirrored the live version on their day, and not the original rambling recorded versions.

I'm still quite fond of Slow Jam....I har it blaring out of the TV here every 10 minutes on the Falcon XR6T ad (very nice car too....12 month waiting list).
