Fine Time is not so bad! It kinda grew on me. voting for Best & Marsh today

It would be an utter disgrace if Fine Time went now. Best & Marsh it is. I'll be lurking on the other end of me 2meg link hitting F5 every few mins tomorrow to claim immunity for Fine Time again...

All The Way.....why in the name of God are so many voting for Don't Do It and B&M? They're brilliant tracks, better than 1/2 of Get Ready in my opinion.

You voted for all the way???? are you nuts???!

All the way...one of my faves ever :guitar:

Happy One, time to go

Fine time is ok at best. But all the other songs on tech. are much better.

But today I'm voting for don't do it, because I think we need to. When you go to a fast food joint and ask for a burger, you expect it right away, not months later after much force. Well the same thing in Iraq. If they were going to do it they would have at the beginning.

the happy one. seems like most of us didn´t actually remember how it sounded like. try remembering again, like me.

Had intended to go for FT but changed my mind for some reason to B&M.

Please God don't let DDI go so soon though!!!

"The Happy One" 'cos i've never heard a proper version of it.

"The Happy One" was never finished - how can people vote out a complete work such as "Best and Marsh" or "Don't Do It" as opposed to a work in progress doodle that wasn't deemed good enough to go on Technique ?

Sorry Tim, gone for Best & Marsh. I think it's bland.

The Happy One will get my vote tomorrow.

I must confess that The Happy One still remains a bit of a mystery to me. I too was under the impression that it was unfinished, and that it only existed in "parts" as used on the Best Of vid and Palatine sampler.

However, I picked up a "full" version from Audiogalaxy just before it went under. The actual description on the file was "full version - fixed" which made me think that some clever bast had glued together the "parts" to make one song, but the end result is longer than the sum of the parts (if that is the case then they did a good job, because you cant hear any joins). I know that the Best Of vid also exists as a Jap laserdisc, so maybe this was the source. I haven't ever timed the snippets to make a comparison, though.

Hooky - and machines - played the entire track in full on the Other Side of Midnight in early 89.

Wilson introduced it as being recorded with 'no vocals or over-dubs' (I think?).

It was also used as incidental muzak in Making Out.

so making out had incidental music from the other two & from hooky?

I remember Wilson saying after Hooky's rendition:

"Thank you very, vey much Mr Hook. KEEP MUSIC LIVE! - ALL THOSE MACHINES WERE LIVE!"

Made me laff anyway ;)

He did indeed, but that's not what I downloaded! The parts of Intermede Musicale from the Palatine sampler add up to 2:30, and the "full" version I downloaded clocks in at 2:48. I'm just a little puzzled as to where the extra 18 seconds came from...unless it was from the Best Of laserdisc.
