Is the title "Eple" ? There's a Röyksopp song, maybe that's the one, wich has almost the exact same intro as Run 2 12 inch. Anyone noticed.

When I heard it on the radio, I was like "They're broadcasting Run 2 now ?!"

Klumpy I can't help you on this one. Its worth noting, however, that the intro to Run2 (the NO version) - when released - sounded suspiciously like several 'other' bands and dancefloor trends at that moment in time. I remember thinking, mmmm, that sounds a bit like some other music around at the moment... I wonder if Order have copied some of that.

Great song though, and I do crank the bastard up when I fish the old 12" out (of course, I have the original - incidentally, I was offered a copious amount of money for it recently but declined).

Buster... the Doberman song, any news?

Well, it wouldn't be the 1st time 'Run' would have some copyrights problems.

I too have this original 12" and won't sell it. Well, for a few millions, maybe... :)

Sorry to keep you waiting, Huntsy but I hope it won't be very long anymore...

Re Geoff

I disagree! "Eple" by Röyksopp sounds a lot more ambient tech, could perhaps described as minimalistic Pink Floyd and nothing like New Order at all. So they probably don't need to ask for permission to play "Eple".

Btw, Is there a "12 inch Run 2" club around :-) I agree - It's a good remix.

I was just talking about the intro. Not sure if Eple is the right song but there's definitely a Röyksopp that sounds like it in the beginning.

Röyksopp's one is a beautiful song anyway. If that's the right one, listen to the 2 intros, you'll see there's something there...

I also feel déja vu when I hear those beats at the beginning of the remix of "Run 2" 12". Mind you, not much good value on that 12" was there - the 'extended mix' of "Run 2" wasn't much longer than the one that preceded it (the single edit ,presumably).

Talking of "Run 2" (yeah we know John Denver sued for the rights - then remember what happened to him a few years afterwards? The curse of New Order, eh??!!) has any one noticed the BIG obvious blunder on "?-The Best Of New Order" wherein the sleeve clearly states "Run 2" when it is in fact the original Technique LP version of "Run" contained therein......tut tut.......these things never escape our scrutiny you know!!!

Re Geoff:

The opinion has changed: Now it (Röyksopp) sounds more like a funky version of old Yello, mixed with the The Tromsö sound of Biosphere, and Orbital.

did you hear the biosphere/higher intellegence agency collabortation? epic ice melting ambience recorded live on a mountain top using samples from the frosty village below.

I sold mine, my Run 2 12", simply because it's in vinyl, and I didn't own a turntable anymore and there was no way I could actually listen to it..

I digitalized it to mp3, and then sold it, so I still have it, and it still sounds the exact same, but it's on CD ;)

I sold mine too, but that was because I was a student desparate for beer money - twenty measly quid in 1990 !

I guess I'm to lazy to digitalize it.

Instead I listen to Wire's "Our Swimmer" and go for a swim.

Since this is a Non New Order topic:

Another Journalist favourite this week is The Margarets' new single

Anyone heard of this band? Something like The Associates?

Oops, just heard that song again on the radio and realized it wasn't 'Eple' but 'Remind You'.

Although I didn't find it obvious this time, erm...
