Does anyone want a fourth Electronic album?

I certainly do. Marr and Sumner's first album was excellent, and IMO "Raise The Pressure" may be among the three best albums Sumner has made in his entire career. "Twisted Tenderness" was a misfire, but I'd certainly like Marr and Sumner to give Electronic another shot, particularly if they could rope in another couple of interesting collaborators like they did with the Pet Shop Boys, Karl Bartos and Arthur Baker. Ian Brown would be a great choice.

Yes please!!! :thumb:

Collaborations mentioned would be good, PSB especially. Ian Brown: now that's one I'd like to hear.

Doesn't seem terribly likely. But, unlike everyone else I liked the 3rd album better than the 2nd and the 2nd better than the 1st, so I'd probably like a 4th. Plus Johnny Marr's current efforts seem a trifle disappointing.

You're right it doesn't seem likely. Actually, I recall reading a New Order interview in which Sumner said that there definitely wouldn't be another Electronic album.

Still, people can change their minds. I remember the days when people were saying there'd never be another New Order album!

I don't want it. I like Electronic, but I want all Summer's efforts on the next NO album.

I expect really much from the upcoming album.

It depends, if the Order are gonna split up.....AYE definitely, some of Sumners greatest lyrics have come with Electronic, in interviews he always said he had more freedom within Electronic.

But! hopefully thr Order are back for their duration and give us another couple of albums and a good few more gigs!! Nothing like a NO tour to look forward to.

And yes, this is ShugZV speaking again:D

I personally heard from Johnny Marr that there's going to be a Best-of out soon.

There's alway the posibility of never released songs, who knows. I'd be happy with a best of. But it seems best to just end it all after that. And I think Johnny Marr's new situation is fine. I love his new album.

Definitely, but he and JM are through with Electronic. The best of will be out soon. As soon as JM gets his lazy arse on it! :)

Actually I think we need/deserve another Revenge album first...dont you? :D

yes the more barney keeps writing and the less he tries to refine it the better...how many great songs from NO "evolved" over time or were recorded and run with...my 2 cents

I've been listening to Twisteted Tenderness quite a bit lately, at the moment i prefer it to Get Ready, so yes I'd love Electronic to do a fourth album. They wont though.

personally i enjoyed twisted tenderness but they're not new order are they?

given the choice of a new album from new order or 1 each from elevtronic/monaco/the other two

i'm firmly in the new order camp

Not if it distracts our wordsmith from his New Order side project.

We've already had four.....

Electronic Republic :p (ok, no Marr either on this one !) Raise The Pressure Twisted Tenderness

not neccessary, I wouldn't spit on it, but I see Twisted Tenderness as a poor Get Ready. Get Ready works on a lot more levels, as does New Order generally compared to Electronic.

Apart from their first album, im not excited with the rest, apart from the odd song here and there. (Forbidden City, Vivid)

Also Benny I believe Republic was more a Sumner solo project with guest appearances from New Order.

Cheers ALEX

I though Get Ready was Electronic's fourth ;)

Considering that (a) this would certainly hinder any new New Order product, and (b) Electronic got increasingly worse which each album (or was that just completely sh*te after the first?), then I'm firmly in the 'No!' camp.

I want it just to break in Almanso´s head ! Cause he is a E fan.

I would love to have another album by Electronic! But I tend to agree with some of the other posters that another Electronic album would just further push back another New Order album. We all know they can't multi-task on two projects like that within any reasonable timetable. ;)

If they ever do make a 4th album, please, no PSB collaboration again. Would be more interesting to see a different group work with them.

I wouldn't mind one; in fact, I think it'd be quite cool. Probably won't happen, though. :(
