Originally posted by zico Slow Jam IMO is a reasonably decent album track but contains the worst lyrics ever written by Barney

You've obviously forgotten about "State Of The Nation" then - lyrically flatulent Barney-isms throughout: "My brother said/that he was dead/I saw his face and shook my head........I drove in my stolen car/when it broke down/I kissed theground/Cos I don't kiss when you're around......" Bet his rhyming dictionary was cringing as well.

So get writing then - aim your angry missiles at those turdbrains at London Records - and force them to reissue the fuckin' album again with the four other songs: Here To Stay/Sabotage(RTRD)/Player In The League/Dream On in place of Joe Slam You Rotten Shag.... god know's I've written to the bastards often enough.!!

Seriously, I still can't see why... I love that song! And I don't like all New Order songs, but this one is very catchy...

Well, we can't enjoy all the same songs :D

Maybe the lyrics are weak, but as far as I know, this is part of New Order! Cheesy lyrics..

And calling that the worst musical effort is maybe a little too far from reality.. if you're saying this is worst than, let's say, Angel Dust, Let's Go or The Village...

Anyway, I rest my case, it seems to be one of those songs you either like or hate :D

Look, I know you don't like "Let's Go" because of the backwards masked line "All French Canadians are homosexuals and should be taken out and shot", but dissing "The Village" ? Pourquoi ? "Angel Dust" is one of my favourites too.

I admit being a bit slow for liking the music of Leonard Cohen. And I also think that I like webmaster Sèbastian Boisvert for the patience - although I don't know him; - for a conversation away back. I think I've finally understood his words I received in a mail "What the fuck!" when I went on and on and on and trying to tell him how fine website he and Nicholas had made about my favourite band. And I was trying ask and ask again why conversing and practise chat to get to know someone here was insulting, when the only apparently mistake was a link to worldinmotion when I was exchanging some words/conversing with Marco Pheil a six months ago.

From the "Slow One"

That's how it goes on the net, isn't it?

It's all focused on sex, so if you want to talk to a man about your fave interest, New order, you're gay, if you're conversing with a woman you're hetero and if you're talking to both - then maybe you're transexual or something - and if you're writing an accepted message you're masochist and if you're write an honest opinion, you're a sadist or something?

Come on Huntsy, Revenge were'nt that bad, I still play the album regularly and still enjoy it! :smoking:

C'mon yourself, Muffy... :) I like '7 seconds' but even the Hookster admits the only purpose of Revenge was to be able to tour.

I love 'The Village', it can make you feel so good.

Personnally, I see it as a pre-Face Up. Anyone shares that opinion ?

Definitely, it's got that bouncy feel to it. And we all like bouncy feels, don't we ?

Nope, "The Village" just stands on its own, and its fucking glorious. And anyone who says otherwise has no pulse. Mad bastard sequncer-on-speed on this one as well: forget proto-"Face-Up", if this isn't primal proto-acid house then I'm a Port Vale fan.

But then I also still like that bloody Revenge album, so obviously there's no help for me.

Yeah, I agree too: The Village is the most upbeat song on PC&L, so what the fuggin hell is wrong with that?
