Here's something I found on the official Pet Shop Boys website -- a question by a fan followed by an answer by Neil Tennant:

Question 93: Hallo.Alcazar's"Crying at discoteque " is " Spacer " by french singer Sheila and B. Devotion ; i remember her songs " Love me baby" and disco version of calssic " Singing in the rain" .I'm expert of ' 70's disco music.The question now :what's your favourite flower ?I like to paint flowers... Answer: "Spacer" is also what Johnny and Bernard nicked for "Getting away with it". N

Any comments? I never heard of that before.

I always thought Getting Away With it was a bit Psychedelic Furs ala Love My Way...
