Great song. Almost as good as Truth and Doubts Even Here on Movement.

I'd place it as #4, falling behind Doubts Even Here, Truth and The Him respectively.

One of the many reasons I have for saying Movement is better than most people give it credit for (along with DNE, DEH, ICB, and Senses)

Yes, Chosen Time is excellent. One of the best on the underrated Movement, along with the peerless DNE and...Denial, the least mentioned New Order song...ever!

Denial's pretty damn good, I agree. The Taras version is superb :thumb:

Yeah I blame the post-Ian critical backlash and especially Barney's insidious negative comments on Hannetts production as why this album has never had the acclaim it deserves.

I've always felt that it was Denial & Senses that were most affected by the Movement production malaise. Those two were superb dynamic songs when played live but somehow sounded a bit flat on record. Doubts Even Here, The Him & Dreams Never End were better on record than live, Truth was about the same and ICB and Chosen Time I've never really cared for all that much anyway.

Listening to it right now as a matter of fact, what a coincidence. I love that trippy effect at the end, maxed out my stereo at 2:33 am (at home with the 'rents), and frankly I don't give a damn. :)

I find half of the songs on the Movement album ruined by a rather sludgy production - making the songs sound mushy, Chosen Time is kind of like that too.

Chosen Time sounds great in my car played very very loud whilst driving very very.... legally.

I'm with those who feel the sound on Movement is too muddy, If ever a remix or remastering was needed, this is the one.

Whilst I'm prattling on, there's a great lp waiting to get out of the Movement, EGG and John Peel recordings (and I play it in my car, very very etc)

Am I the only person seriously underwhelmed by the whole of Movement? I first bought it about 14 years ago and hardly played it then. Didnt listen to it for the next 13 years. Bought the CD a few months ago and have only played it maybe 3 times. Sorry.

I had heard it in 1990 for the first time and found it sounded different but good.
