Johny Giles, U tripping Man or what? Roots Manuva Shit?? (see previous post concerning Order on Later) Run Come Save Me is a benchmark for UK hip hop and easily the long player of 2001.

Sorry Paris, I can't even spell their name so what hope have I got?.

They are good at the style of music they play, it's just not really my cup of tea but I did actually quite enjoy them.

Ignore my cursory remarks, written while still giddy from the excitement of the show!.

I just bought the new Roots Manuva cd today. Excellent indeed. Definitely an improvement over the previous long player. From what i gather, the neworder crowd don't listen to too much hip-hop. Most would rather hear some bullshit Rock n Roll song than some homegrown headz music. The video for Witness (one Hope) shows Rodney's great sense of humor. If new order wanted to reach a greater audience, they would have someone work up a nice downtempo remix of Run Wild (no lyrics of course) or Vicious Streak.

Does Roots Manuva have a U.S. deal? The only item of theirs I have is the single with Leftfield, "Dusted", which I've played for people at work and received a good reaction. Sorry I'm not as up to date on the music scene as I once was. :o

I think this shows a big difference between US and UK New Order fans. I think people like New Order introduced me to a lot of hip hop and electro. The Hacienda certainly had a lot to do with my musical education 86-90. I don`t really understand approachin New Order from a rock point of view.
