I've seen newOrder only once in 1983 at the Seaview Ballroom (or Crystal Ballroom as it was sometimes called) in melbourne, australia, but i have a funny feeling this gig was actually at a place called The Venue just down the road from the Seaview (can't remember, should have kept my ticket stub).

November 82 ? Or May 85 ? It would have to be november 1982, i don't remember much about it, i was completely off my face (as you are when you are young and stupid), i just remember Hooky's bass pounding into my brain.

Saw New Order just once, but at their first tour, i guess, in Germany, 1980 in Berlin (West). Took some photos, one of Bernard is featured in the Media section, at the very bottom - - - - Last Year I didn't bother to buy tickets in advance, so I had to listen to Joy Division songs on the stairs in front of the Hall, so next time I know better ...

Gotta be my all-time favourite bootleg. Pity I wasn't there. What a set. Still sends shivers down my spine when i hear Decades.

Yep 
it was unbelievable, some people were almost in tears. IMHO it qualifies as one of the "legendary" NO gigs. Also, I was one of the photographers Barney referred to either just before, or just after LMA, still have the pictures somewhere, I'll dig them out and ask Nic to post them.

Possibly one of the ultimate New Order moments, the first few seconds of Decades.
WALTHAMSTOW 81- Cabaret Voltaire and Simple minds also played elsewhere in London that night,straight after the show, I thought I chose the wrong gig but of course I chose correctly. KILBURN 82- they came on late, we left early worried about missing public transport home.Miised the awfall jam with 52nd Street.
FUTURAMA 82-it was sensational to be there, also first met Ian Thompson(Eddie Wolfram) who had a massive bootleg tape stall at back of hall!
BRIXTON ACE 83- Brilliant show, good (not so)friendly banter with crowd.Met Mark Johnson for first time.
HACIENDA 83- What an event! kept us waiting for hours in scorching heat, girlfriend almost passed out. Outstanding gig. Best version of Thieves Like Us.
Brixton Academy 83- Absolute shite, looked closely at Barney during Procession, completely pissed/stoned.Rubbish
Royal Festival Hall 84- 'Decades',Incredible encore. Thought we could see Ian Curtis ahead of us in crowd (true!).Mark Johnson showed us pre copy of his book.
Southampton 84- Ended show with debut of 'Sunrise', could'nt get it out of my head for a long time. Excellent Indian Takeaway.
Margate 84- Met Rob Gretton by the sea, he liked my 'tour' t-shirt. Shit gig though.
Chippenham 84- Much better, also met band backstage, Gillian offered me a drink, I wanted to make a move for her but Steve was close by!
Heaven, London 84- Fantastic gig, Barney wearing only his boxers, appropriate for venue. Perfect Kiss was just that.
Leeds 85-Great showcase for Low-Life, band were excellent.Worth the trip up from London.
Finsbury Park 85- practically my back yard. Special gig.
Birmingham 85- very good show, had to pogo for 'Denial', favourite song then.
WOMAD 85- first and last festival for me, good performance. Freezing night, Barney in shorts!
U.L.U 85- left Banshees early to catch most of this gig, fantastic ad hoc lyrics during Love Vigilantes.
C.L.P. 85 -bloody rowdy crowd, some twat threw a shoe? at Hooky during Dreams Never End. Exceptional performance.
Brighton 86 - uninspiring gig, highlight was Lets Go.
GMEX 86 -Brilliant all dayer, Ceremony sung by Ian McCulloch, at end of song, Barney-'thanks very much, fuck off' superb.
Birmingham 86 -Same venue as 85, nice palm trees. Hooky and Barney deal with fool who shouts 'pop group'. Barney ruins it by apologising later.
Royal Abert Hall 86 - met Barney and Gillian backstage before gig, priveleged to watch soundcheck from behind the stage. Spotted Pat Nevin at the show
Woolwich 87 -worth the trip to deepest, darkest sarf london for this. Was Barney singing Do The Ostrich, nah, must have misheard him.
Finsbury Park 87 -'move back or they'll set the dogs on you' Hooky. Brilliant gig and it DID smell like cows shit in there.
Wembley 87 -I hate Wembley Arena. Too vast, sound was shit from where I was sitting which was at the back. my last gig.
