What was your first New Order release ?

Mine was PC&L and Brotherhood albums in January 1989.I bought both at the same day in Mesbla Store.

blue monday, '82-3 thereabouts

Ceremony when it came out, from Ace Records, Islington High Street. Long since closed sadly.

1981-1982 EP of Tempatation, Hurt, Everything's Gone green, Procession, and what was called Mesh ... early 1983 i think. In was in the Joy Division bin at the indie record store, so i bought it. I had not even heard of Ian yet.

Ceremony, April 81, cause it took a couple of weeks or so to appear over here.

first was confusion 12", lovely! next was "the perfect kiss" and then it goes on and on...

Republic, used at $7.00, then Movement about six months later....

Substance 1987 double cassette. :D

Very quickly followed by everything I could lay my hands on by Neworder, followed by Joy Division.

Ditto. Heard it at school, and then on John Peel's show. Went out to buy it right away. Never looked back.

Some obscure track called Blue Monday, you may have heard of it, in April 1983.

SNAP! well nearly!! i got the double cassette, in fact i never saw the single cassette!!

Blue Monday, late 1983 (bought it for the funny looking cover) and the Factus 8 e.p.

Blue Monday December 1983, although I had bought Love Will Tear Us Apart in the November.

Although I had several NO songs downloaded onto my computer, I still bought the US version of (the best of), which was kind of disappointing. A few months later, I bought Low Life and was more satisfied - especially since I didn't need to skip over any tracks like "Fine Time" and "Run."

Unknown Pleasures, spring 1988, from a street seller at the Flower Square. First strictly NO record was Low-Life in Graz a few months later.

My first was Substance in 1987 when I was 13. I heard True Faith on the local top 40 radio station and went straight to the local "Wherehourse Records" store to buy anything with that song. It really was a life-changing experience. I promptly dumped all the Duran Duran and INXS records in a drawer where they remain til this day. I consumed all the New Order albums in reverse order within a few months except Movement which only made sense to me after I listened to Joy Division.

Substance double-LP

The Perfect Kiss 12" about 1/2 hour after hearing it on college radio and deciding that it was the best damn thing I'd ever heard.

This was also the 1st vinyl I ever bought!
