It's an absolute treasure trove. I got shivers down my neck just reading the description. If I wasn't currently out of work and on a tight budget I'd be definitely bidding for this. But as an avid JD/NO fan only since 1985 I'd feel a fake taking this collection from someone who was there. It must surely be gut-wrenching for them. Then again, you can't take it with you when you go. I hope Hooky buys it.

Hahaha!! what a waste of money!!! ;)

I have more allegiance to NewOrder so would not bid vast amounts of money for JD items although i must say that is a VERY tempting collection to have and if i do see reasonably priced JD items i will pick them up :)

I think this is silly money though.... much better spend on ManUtd merchandise!!!

The current bid is almost 2 grand and the reserve isn't met yet. I also wonder what the reserve is.

At least Ebay's earning a lot with this auction. They're taking 9,5 % of the highest bid with auction over 600 Pounds  !!!!

GBP 2,552.00 (approx. US $4,209.52 ) (reserve not yet met)

And Mr Sultan is NOT the highest bidder..

Time left 7 days, 13 hours +

That's 6000$ CDN, let me tell you, there is no way in hell I would spend that much money on some collectible stuff...

this truly is a one of a kind collection. too bad noone has had the foresite to build a museum in Manchester dedicated to the incredible music the city has given the world. these items would make for an interesting display. it's not so much that i want these items, i just want to get a good look at them...

One funny thing though.. it's the first time this guy sells stuff on EBay, and he bought a few rare items.. hence why I don't get why he's selling those!

GBP 3,100.00

And the reserve has still not been met!!!!

how rare are autographs of Ian and all 4? who here also has gotten Ian's autograph, or has gotten his secondhand? and all the members of Joy Division(while they were still JD??

seems to me, the guy who is willing to spend the money on this prolly has half of the non-autographed stuff anyway and just wants the early ultra-rarities.

We can bet on how much they are willing to pay for these items.

My bet is £5,600.

my bet is 5,000 pounds. i think it´s time for them to think about slowing down a bit. it´s getting really crazy!

Quite frankly, I think you really have to be mad in order to pay this sum of money for a few records -- OR have a lot of money.

Mr Sultan seems to have a lot of money and be mad all at once. Reminds me of Bill Gates.

It's all a matter of passion, really. An "adolescent passion", I'd say. Nothing wrong with that, mind. But this is not something based on cold thinking. Because in that respect, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Ah well.

I'm about to bid just to say I did.

It's sure someone would beat me at this level, I'm safe as long as the reserve is not met :p

That's what I was thinking. You should have seen the missus's face when I told her how much I had bid !

Ok I did it, I bid just to say I did. I passed WIM as the highest bidder, but still no reserve met. I'm sure he will try again the freak!!!

But I dont think this guy will sell his stuff. I think he is just trying to see how much he could get, The reserve is so high that WIM is the only person who might get it. Then the guy will be a millionare, and WIM will drop behind Bill Gates by a million.

2 questions: Why have a reserve? Just start it at the price you want. And why bid when there are 7 days left? Or even one day left, you are just raising the price.

Well I had fun. Does anybody else have the guts???

Beat you! Currently at 3,400 and reserve still not met!

Mind, I spent most of yesterday pushing it up as well!

You guys are playing Russian Roulette. What would happen if you make a sill bid and end up the highest bidder?. It is only pushing the price up fot the eventual winner

errr, that's the idea. We all know who's going to win. With ten seconds to spare...

besides, in a way they're doing a service as it won't be sold unless it reaches the reserve...

Nah, if your highest bid meets the reserve it will be accepted. So, if Wim bids 10000 Pounds and this is the reserve, he will get it anyway. No matter, what the next-highest bid is.

Someone in the states is bidding £1.20 for a £1 coin!! Kind of makes prices on ebay seem a bit of a farce!

If you have the money you can even make a profit selling every item separately later. Of course, after taking a few photographs with them.
