Interesting, revealing his hand this early. Thought he would wait until 0.01 seconds before the auction ended. The tension must be eating away at him.

He is still testing the reserve. Just wait until the last 10 seconds, Then you will see the big bid :thumb:

If he works for the Airlines, he must be a pilot, or air trafic control. Because there is no way anybody else makes this kind of money. I worked as a travel Agent before so I kinda have an idea.

But I bet he still lives at home

I bet he doesn't: considering he's French, and lives in Miami!

Can't remember what he does, though I did know. Not a pilot though. Perhaps something in IT, not sure?

and pilots make next to nothing.

lots of bling bling in miami--perhaps 'works for the airlines' is code for 'owns own plane.'

I sense the typical jealousy against people who are fortunate enough to be able to affort the prices for some of the really collectible items. I've met David a couple of times, and he's a nice guy who is very passionate about New Order. If we didn't have ebay, he would be 3 hours early to a record fair just to snag the best pieces there.

There are collectors, and then there are dedicated hard-core collectors. I only know of a handful of collectors who would spend this kind of money. Some people play the lottery (tax for people who don't know statistics), some people buy expensive cars, some people travel around the world to see New Order ;), and some people spend a lot of money on records...

The flip-side of the coin is that the seller could've sold the collection to Esprit, and then we would have seen some really horrible prices...

If he's french, how come he doesn't understand it? :skeptic:

Don't mention language skills, bit of a touchy subject. ;)

reserve not met yet?!?!?!?!? :wtf:

one day to go and we´ll know. what if mr. sultan wins and the seller don´t want to because he didn´t reach the reserve? :evil4:

5k though? This is getting ridiculous :eek3:

If noone reaches the reserve then no deal - unless the seller & high bidder both agree to it.

Gotta say, I was convinced £5k would do it. Got no idea what the reserve is now. Sultan must be pulling his hair out :evil4:

I can't believe this stuff is worth in excess of £5k. I wouldn't pay that much for it even if I had the money. Anyone know who Trojan1963 is yet ?

Sultan of Bling is still in the "lead" a dubious accolade nonetheless at 5k

Less than 24 hours to go now so im just off to the bank to rush through a 7 grand loan.... :evil4:

The reserve is probably 6,000. I hope so!

In any case, I think David Sultan is nuts and I feel very sorry for him.

Don't know who likes more David here,Sebs or Nicos ?

Watch that seller do the same auction for NewOrder rareties as soon as that auction is closed, could the Sultan of Bling afford to re-bid so quickly should he scoop this lot i wonder....

Cajun people are in fact Acadians people deported by England from New Brunswick to Louisianna (it was still part of France then I guess)

I think the server might be 10k, and the seller just wants to know how he can get for it.

If he's not selling it, he won't pay the fees, just the entry price (hence why there is a reserve)...

(Someone said this already, I know!)

The re-bid is actually because he put a higher price on his last bid, and EBay's re-bidding for him automatically up to his limit...

I thought Cajuns were native to America, no?

Dave is bona fide French.

As in born-and-raised-in-France.

I repeat: you really have to be a sad loser to be bidding so much money on something as worthless as a bunch of records, even Joy Division ones.

OR, then again, have A LOT OF MONEY and not knowing what to do with it.
