Hooky joined dance act Hybrid, live on stage at Fabric this evening. The band came on shortly after 12.30 with Hooky joining them for 2 tracks mid-way through the set.

Hooky was on stage just for these 2 songs and he made his presence known with signature bass lines running through both tracks.

NOOLers in the crowd included, ID, Jim Reilly & his mate John, Ness & Partner Greg, Al & Paula Jarvis. Al & P bumped into Hooky just after they entered Fabric but I'll let Al tell you how the conversation went. I think Ness took some close up snaps of Hooky to compliment her shots of Barney from Return to NY, and also managed to slap his arse as he was mooching around at the front of the stage!. So, look out for the photos!

'kin hell, I thought I was up early for a Saturday, but then I clocked the time you posted!

Me to Hooky: Doing any 'proper' gigs this year? Hooky: (laughing) I fookin' wish.

And, er, that's about it, although I did get an 'Alright, mate' off him about 10 mins later when we bumped into him again in the upstairs bar.. .

And I've had WinMX searching for the new Hybrid album for the past 36hrs, and I've still not downloaded a single byte!!

Know how you feel. Been in work since 8.20 and am hanging now. Quite fancy just kipping here under me desk rather than face a tube journey home!

Just got an e-mail off my mate Mike who reckoned Hooky fell over and ended up sprawled over the monitor stack behind him? Confess, I can't remember that bit.

Julio, I don't think it's a case of New Order only wishing to play live when the've got new material. I think they're basically obligated to play live to promote new material, otherwise we'd probably never see Barney and Steve again (I'm sure Hooky would play live any day of the week!)..

You mean this year or forever

Will be sending photos tomorrow - so watch this space. Got some great close ups again, especially of Hooky's arse and him falling in to the monitors.

The night was smart, you really appreciate Hooky's amazing talent when you hear him playing in a different context.

It was fantastic to get so close, the cheeky b****** finished off my bottle of water then gave it back to me!

Wise words.

After Hooky went off, some young fella stood next to me says, 'not bad for an old man', cheeky cnut I thought, then, nah, he's right!
