I reckon the unknown 84(2) may in-fact be Bournemouth 12/83.

You were there, weren't you? Could be right, cos I've got a vid somewhere and think Barney was in a white shirt at that one?
I used to have a great poster of Barney in full swing with his shirt off - I take it this was a regular occurence circa '83-'84??

Nah, did not go to that one but had a sneaky suspicion it was Bournemouth.
I think that the 'Southampton 84 is actually Birmingham Tower Ballroom 85. I took these. What I remember about Southampton was the dissapointment after picking up my photos, remember that they were mostly underexposed. There wasn't a decent photo amongst them. The photos purporting to be Southampton are generally exposed correctly.
The other 'unknown' set I think come from the summer of 84. Possibly Leicester, Nottingham, Bristol or Birmingham.
What do you think of the mult-exposure photo from Brixton Ace?, really gutted that the camera jammed as that roll of film would have produced some excellent close-ups.
The other unknown isn't I believe Birmingham Powerhouse, the white curved ceiling isn't how I remember it, very dark with pillars if my memory serves me correctly. The Southampton ones could be the Tower as Barney and Gillian look more "Lowlifish". However, no sign of the plastic palm trees :D
"Southampton" isn't Birmingham Tower 85 - there's a melodica in use on the one photo (14), and they didn't play anything using a melodica that night. Unknown 2 is Bristol 84 - on the last photo they are playing Dreams Never End (only song with 6-string bass and two guitars without keyboards), and this is the only show they played it at from the ones listed as possibles.

Good spot Tim, Could be I am a confused old git, I have a complete set of photos that I didn't send Al as they were all underexposed, it might be that they are the Birmingham 85 photos. I will check them out for palm trees!![]()

Palm trees were all behind the standing area though, so unless you turned round to survey the crowd you wouldn't get them ! Incidentally, have started work on copying those 84 shows to CD - St.Austell is rather good !

OK, I'll check 'em out. Look forward to the CDs, my old friend Danny who is pictured with thumbs up at Chippenham (standing next to Phil Mitchell with hair!)tried to purseade me to make the trip to St Austell with him but I declined, felt it was too far to travel
