A mate of mine who worked on the security on the recent New Order UK tour reckons there is a rumour going around that New Order may do the England 2002 World Cup song. If not perhaps they could do the F.A Cup winning song for the mighty Crewe Alexandra

It was bad enough having to buy the last one, even though it was so good! :smoking:

Thats nothing to do with you being a sweaty sock is it mate. Perhaps Marti Pellow can do a guest vocal so you don't feel left out

I Hope they do get commissioned Lee. I really rated World In Motion - mainly the lyrics and bass line. Just as long as they don't let old Jonny Barnes rap and have backing vocals with a Peter Beardsley vibe!

Isn't the bass / drums from round&round B-side 'best & marsh' ?

I'd love to hear that track if it was! It wouldn't suprise me if World In Motion was taken from that song, then re-moulded with how-ever-much input from Keith "get me on TV" Allen. (I won't insult him anymore he's apparently Allen is a bass player and us bass players should stick together)

It wasn't. It was taken and re-shaped from Stephen and Gillian's theme music for the BBC programme "Reportage" . Hilarious TRUE story this: BBC threatened legal action against NO for "WIM"'s musical resemblance to their Reportage Theme tune. Stephen Morris retorted: "Well that should be interesting, especially considering that we wrote the bleedin' thing!!!"
