Was there ever one? It is listed in the other two videography on world in motion.com but I have never seen it mentioned anywhere else?
Anyone know anything about it?

Yup, there definitely was one as I've got the promo VHS tape! ![]()
Can't remember offhand as to what the video contained, as I haven't watched it for a while, and the tape isn't at my house at the moment... :)
I'll try and remember what it was about (I seem to remember that "You Can Fly" was about a pregnant Melanie Williams - which I've also got, but I may be confusing that with "Superhighways"?)... Hmmm... ![]()
Yeah - Melanie Williams was pregnant in You Can Fly - I downloaded it from this site and ill be darned if I can understand it if there is supposed to be a message or something. I'd be dead interested to hear (or see) superhighways - its one of their best songs i think - if its ever going to be transferred by anyone to DVD I would be very interested.......
But a description from you Nick would be much appreciated - Im looking forward to it!
Christ! I didn't know Superhighways was a single! Watched the You Can Fly video recently though.
It was meant to be a single but they were dropped first so it was never released - that was my understnading.
Nick has the promo VHS... to be honest side project promo videos have always been extremely rare so I wouldn't build up your hopes too much of finding a copy any time soon. I got the Monaco ones for free back in the day because I was doing their web site but I haven't really seen any for sale even on eBay :(
There is work commencing on a new (unofficial) side project DVD for Monaco, Revenge and Other Two but a release date is a wee while off yet. Shugster is once again the mastermind but after the stellar effort he put into the Electronic DVDs he's enjoying a well earned rest ![]()
We're currently bringing together all promo videos we have and reviewing the situation... if anyone has anything they'd like to contribute then please contact me (E-mail below). As with the Electronic project this is being done in a non-profit manner strictly for the fans!

Thanks so much for the info, alistair! :) I will look forward in helping in that eventuality in any capacity I can!
Absolutley stoked about an other two dvd! Would be really great to see - although I cant imagine there is much stuff for it, they didnt do any interviews, did they?
Can anyone just remember what the sh clip was about?

On tenderhooks here!
Alas, the video is elsewhere (i.e. not at my house at the moment), so I can't put said video on and refresh my memory!
I think I must have only watched it once...? ![]()
If I have a brainwave (and these don't often happen round these parts!), I'll post back here, but don't hold your breath! :)

It was released either a week before or after the album with no promotion whatsoever - discovered the single simply by going into a record shop and finding it amongst the new releases... ![]()
"You Can Fly" was due to have been released earlier - they even pressed up both CD singles (the second of which I finally found for 4 quid last year after about 5 years of looking!) and a double-pack 12" promo of mixes by Cevin Fisher and the like... It was apparently gaining popularity with the DJ's at the time, so why it wasn't released is anybody's guess (maybe Steve wanted to spend more time recording with New Order, as the same thing happened with Electronic's "Late At Night" and Monaco's "See Saw" i.e. withdrawn and never promoted).
Ta for the info, Nick! When you do eventually get hold of it, could you give us a buzz with a brief "synopsis" as they say?
I'm determined to get hold of some other two stuff, my chances here in Oz are slim, so I'll hang on for dear life to the recordings noolers ave sent me (bless their cotton socks) and start some online buying when I gtet a credit card.
Superhighways goes for $70 a pop on amazon!
Okey dokey, just found the video - shock, horror! ![]()
There's absolutely no Steve or Gillian in it whatsoever...
It basically consists of a long-haired blonde bloke who stops off in his black Ford Capri at a petrol station for a carwash.
Driving into the carwash, he inserts the token (which is glowing!) into the slot machine, and the car wash starts just as he starts eating a sandwich.
Carwash is fine, until it goes ballistic and (much to the horror of the long-haired guy), starts wrecking the car - smashing numberplate, lights, scratching sides, etc.
Car is fcuked after the carwash and guy is well upset...
Not much of a video, which is probably why I didn't remember it... :)
Interesting concept for a video. A real shame there's no Other Two to be found on it in person. Still,
.
Sounds GREAT - shame it never saw the light of day. Not what I would have thought of for the song, and a shame no ther two in it - should have been THEIR car, or tank maybe! But a dead interesting concept for a video - thatks for posting that, I really appreciate it!
Somebody sent me a DVD with many mastered clip from the videos (mostly Electronic I think), I have yet to check it, but it should be a better quality than Shug's DVD.
I don't remember who it is though since his name isn't his nickname, I'll check that this week-end for sure ;)

You are aware I want a digital copy to put online right? ![]()
