If there is something you miss from the forums we had since the last 2 weeks, say it so here, I'll see what I can do.

I miss the always witty and insightful posts by Gnu Odor.

Now here's a blast from the past! How's it going Brett?

I liked having a menu at the bottom of each page of posts rather than having to scroll to the top of the page.

Lazy fingers, eh?

The drop down list is there, what else do you need?

Maybe a bad memory but I don't remember what was at the end of the other forum pages.

Lazy everything, I'm afraid!

I miss the 'back to top' button, or was that the forum before last ?!

Add Janaki to that as well.

Fuck me! Where have you been all this time? I remember you said something about your wife being sick. I hope she's alright.

I like how only the unread posts were highlighted.

Seems to be a recurrent question.

Yes I do have a 9 to 5 job, and yes I have a social life..

But I was between contracts for the last 3 weeks, so I had a lot of time to spare on NOOL... and my wife was working week-ends.

But all will change now, monday I'm starting a new contract and my wife now has a real 9 to 5 job. (thanks to the student strike in Quebec right now)

One other thing is that my daily job is the same thing as what I do with NOOL, so as unreal as it might seem, I'm doing for my job a lot of stuff I use for NOOL and vice-versa...

But yes, I hope this will end someday and I could say the site is working fine and is finished ;)

I like these forums better; you can read everything and it's easier to find your way around. Thanks for putting them back, Nic! :)

Yes, they do have a nice familiar lived-in feel, don't they?

A question for Patrick: How the hell am I gonna mark the threads now? :uhoh:

Good question. I guess there are no star ratings here? Perhaps you should suggest that to Nic as a possible enhancement. I would do it myself but he didn't seem favorably inclined to my last suggestion.

I think you've just done it instead of me. ;)

Well, now, perhaps I did. ;)

Actually you didn't reply when I asked for details... :skeptic:

Sorry, Nic.

What I meant was to have repeated at the bottom of each page the same links that you currently have at the top, for example on this thread it's "Dry 201 Message Pub > Digital Republic > Old Forums vs New Forums." It's just a quicker way of returning to the thread list after you've looked at the latest post.

I don't believe I ever disputed that proposition, did I?

By the way, Duchess of Belgrade, is English your first language? Because if not, one would never guess it.

Unfortunately NOT Patrick but I'm doing my best, eh? Sometimes it just gets so hard to even think in two different languages at the same time, makes me say some weird and funny words! Bet Nicos also knows how it feels! ;)

Well, Maya (is it all right if I call you that?), as I said before, I would never have guessed that English was not your first language. Your spelling, for example, seems to be flawless, and is certainly far better than that of many here who've spoken English since birth.

Thanks, P! And of course you can call me Maya BUT look or shall I say take a listen to my signature

I just listened, Maya, and I can assure you that I would never have used the prohibited term in any event. However, I can imagine someone failing to understand the precise significance of your "nickname" without having listened to that message. ;)

In response to the first part of your post, M, I'm only giving credit where credit is due! :)

Good. Glad we've made that clear. I'm still having some problems with my English grammar though. I mean The Past Tense and The Past Perfect Tense sometimes confuse me a lot. But who gives a damn about grammar anyway! So, will I ever be able to MARK again? :uhoh:

I've somewhat forgotten the grammar terminology. Is past perfect something like "I had forgotten"? As for marking, it's in Nic's hands now. Perhaps you should try to exercise some sort of feminine persuasion on him?
