Again, which do you prefer? Why?

Kickball - because I can play it and not get hurt.

Rugby is the most physically demanding so it is the most fun to play. Soccer is for small fast pricks. Football is more a game of strategy than it is a sport, so its great advantage over soccer is that football is more interesting to watch than soccer. Of the three sports rugby is king!

Rugby is decent (never played it, but I have played Aussie-rules football, which wasn't a poll choice), but proper football is tops. Played it for a long time....best game in the world. American football is for glandular freaks with aggressive streaks.

I honestly couldn't tell you much because I played it in P.E. back in 7th grade, but I remember it's a lot like rugby, but you have to hit the ball to other people underhand and you have to kick it over the goal line or something like that. Anyway, it was quite a rough sport for P.E.

Soccer football is by far my favourite team sport. Too bad for me i didnt have any talent in that so i played volleyball instead (my height was a major help). As for rugby and american football, they are alomst unknown sports here in Greece. I tried to watch some on satelite TV a couple of times and i must say i quite enjoyed rugby, on the other hand though i couldnt watch more than 5 mins of american football... I know in the US its almost a joke to compare soccer with american football at least as their popularity is concerned. I wonder why, is this because soccer is still unknown for most of the sport fans there, or its less popular even among the ones who know it? I d like to have answers to that guys :). I also have the impression that soccer is growing rapidly in the US (i m not 100% sure though). If thats the case, then maybe sooner than we all think, the US national team will find its position in the world's top. A good development if u ask me, cos i got kinda tired seeing only 5 or 6 national teams getting or claiming the world cups. A little more variety wouldnt hurt ;)

Right; what I don't understand is why all these millions and millions of soccer kids, many of whom are now probably adults, don't watch soccer (erm, football). You'd think if there was a large, untapped market for a sport in this country, somebody would be out there building teams and leagues and getting it on TV. But nope, nothing.

The reason that "soccer" to us Americans doesn't catch on here is because, quite frankly the sport sucks!

American rules football (for me, at least) is the best. I don't mind watching some Aussie football (that takes real guts, and I guess those guys are really sloshed before taking the field).

Soccer, erm worldwide football, is about as exciting as watching grass grow. I'd rather watch a battle between Chinese and Korean ping-pong players.

Soccer. Probably because it's the most popular here and I got into it from an early age and became hooked. Plus the English league is very popular here, with most people supporting Manchester United, Liverpool & Arsenal. Finally started seeing regular coverage of American Football around 1986 and took to that too, although not to any serious extent & I'm in a minority. (Totally out of touch with it these days to be honest). I think that was the year Chicago Bears with "The Fridge" won the Superbowl. As for rugby, even though it's popular here in Ireland, it's just not to my liking at all, and again, I'm in a minority. Sorry rugby fans!

I'd argue that watching soccer is just as boring or exciting as watching any other sport. If you have an appreciation for the game (which you stated you do not), then you'll have the attention span for it. I don't have an appreciation for American football, and therefore it is worse than death to watch one of those games.

Do you get televised Ping-Pong ? Aint you the lucky ones. I well remember the epic battles between Norfolk and Choice, Norfolk and Hope and that grudge match too far, Norfolk and Way. WOW !

american football is the poor man's rugby. 'soccer' is, truly, the beautiful game. and ping-pong is hardcore.

I'm between Football (soccer) and Rugby. Football World Cups are a historical moment for almost everyone but that's not the case in Rugby. Anyway I'm sick of all the merchandising sorrounding football.

American football makes no sense to me and rugby is a lot of big men hurting each other--so soccer it is for me

Basketball is the best sport to watch.

Soccer is the one for me. Having said that, I'm glad my boy chose to play basketball rather than footie because I can sit in a nice warm hall to watch him :D

The German Soccer League is so lame these days, so I switched to American Football about 4 or 5 years ago (I picked myself the St. Louis Rams (for those whom it may concern)). I'm still interested in soccer, but American Football has far more suspense... (This from a female :bag: )
