Which track should Electronic have released as a single?

There`s such a great bunch of songs there, it makes me a tad angry that Marr & Sumner released dross like 'Feel Every Beat' & 'For You'.

I`d go for 'Try All You Want' here, but 'Dark Angel' & 'Twisted Tenderness' would have made killer singles, as would both B-sides I included

Reality.

Twisted Tenderness, although Late at Night would have made a cracking single as well.

I think Gangster would've worked 1991-92 era, especially if the overall arrangements were beefed up in general.

I remember hearing 'Saint years ago and thought it could have been released with some decent remixes.

I still can't comprehend why oh why did they not release Twisted Tenderness as a single. Such a cracking song!

i think it is somewhat 'taboo' to release a single that features the same title as the album it is on... too much confussion, i guess

Went with Twisted Tenderness. Pure class. Although Patience Of A Saint is a close 2nd. Remember asking for Get The Message single in a local music shop in 1991 & the guy telling me the album was released & I was actually listening to "Patience..." on the shop stereo. I thought that sounds brilliant, the album must be good.

And I wasn't far wrong, as it turned out!

I Feel Alright is definitely one of the best tracks Electronic has ever recorded.

My vote goes to Late At Night. It was released as a single in Europe but not the UK, if I remember right. What was that all about? It should've been a UK single too.

Without doubt it would have to be "Idiot Country". The perfect blend of Marr's wah-wah guitar and some electonica, and a Barney rap. A great opener for the album. And its not even a choice on thie list! scandalous!!!

Patience of a Saint, although Gangster would've been a good choice still, as long as it wouldn't get played on a top 40 station. I can't see Twisted Tenderness as a single, since it reminds me too much of a "boyband" song, which, maybe if it were released, might have helped the band sell more singles .

Twisted Tenderness is very Westlife and not well sung. Patience of a Saint is bit of a gem of a song. But how on earth can people over look Idiot Country?? Especially when the whole point of Electronic was Smiths & New Order combo. It gets my goat!!

Electronic is just as good as NO or JD if you ask me. All the songs listed above go to prove it. "Dark Angel" or "Twisted Tenderness" would be my pick. I think _Raise the Pressure_ tops anything Barney did with his other bands. I know I'm inviting a lot of scorn here! I found Electronic before NO or JD because I was a huge Pet Shop Boys fan in the 80s and 90s and heard they were on the _Electronic_ album. I moved on to NO a year later and JD two years after that. PSB are still great melody-writers to my ears, but lack that Barney or Ian "Substance".

No it was cancelled.. however they did sell those already purchased on pre-orders...

Hmm... I love my "Late at Night" double-digipak singles. Good material, amazing packaging! Is it a rarity?

Hmm... I love my "Late at Night" double-digipak singles. Good material, amazing packaging! Is it a rarity? Yes it is...i only managed to get the PROMO and PROMO VID but didn't get the actual pack.Then i saw it for aprox £35 so i guess that tells the story.As i have almost all ELECTRONIC CDs/PROMOS you could say that it is indeed quite rare here at the PLANET ROCKET.Now take care of it and enjoy it. Idiot Country 2 (found on Disappointed CD single) is pretty good. I like the dialogue at the start, and the organ solo in the middle is pretty cool. Not as good as the album version but worth a listen too for sure.

I like tt, not sure if anyone would've bought it though
