Turn

Turn is defintely a mixture of the guitar driven tracks on Brotherhood and Technique. A wonderful song.

Beautiful. Even the edit is great. I fully expect the single release to have Guilt mixes on it.

So brilliant that it makes me want to weep with joy.

The last NO single? Nah, not with Blue Monday 07 and True Faith 09 and so on surely still to be released....:) But Turn does have a wonderful 'end' quality to it - still think it should have been the last track on WFTSC... Like so many of their best songs, a simple track, just quality writing, playing and delivery... I love the 'sky is high, the road is long...' bit and the simplicity but beauty of 'I want you more than you know'... Great track, definitely a future classic and now firmly installed as the penultimate track on my own personal Best Of... (before Avalanche)...

I swear that Turn is a lost Technique track. It sounds like it could have easily been from that period. The vocals, the words, the music. Everything. Great song from an OK album. Instant New Order classic. Shows that the guys still have it in them.

This is a nice song, but not head and shoulder above WFTSC or anything. Yeah, it would have a chance of doing well in the US but that always depends on how it gets promoted.
WFTSC is a good album but probably only their fourth or fifth best, IMHO.

Technique is my favourite NO album and I absolutely adore Turn ... as others have said it is the simplicity of the song superb lyrics and an absolute barnstorming piece of Hooky magic

I find it a bit formulatic but good nevertheless. Nothing spectacular and a bit overrated by many - Maybe because because the good songs were missing on WFTSC. - Title track, Krafty were good but rest very mediocre and Turn maybe not as bad as the remainder.

I didn't like "Turn" much for several months. It sounded to me like "Hey Now What You Doing (Reprise)." But then one day it got stuck in my head -- in a good way -- and I just had to hear it. And now I love it.

However, for an album that includes "Morning Night and Day," "I Told You So," and "Guilt is a Useless Emotion," it seems too light to be an album closer. So I like "Working Overtime." (Or maybe I'm just used to hearing the album as it is. But I think ending on "Turn" would have left the album lacking.)

Turn is absolutely flawless. So what that it could be "New Order by numbers"? They are good numbers! It contains all the classic ingredients of a great New Order song - powerful bassline that hooks you (intentional....), pleasant guitar riff construction, typical lyrics, a bit of keyboard middle eight to lift you, and an unusual twist just when you think the formula is solid. Unbeatable, yet not the best on the album, that goes surely to the title track, with Who's Joe a gallant 3rd.

Turn has always been the best track on WFTSC, the title track has slowly slid down my list of best songs, but I will agree with you about Who's Joe.

I heard Dracula's Castle being criticised for being NO by numbers! Where's the love for DC? (Personally i like it! )

I was never a big fan of WFTSC as a whole, but recently ive given some of the songs a lot more plays and i think this song along with WFTSC are great NO songs. Really enjoyed them live in Liverpool too

First time I heard 'Turn', I fell in love with it. And yep, definitely the best track on WFTSC, hands down.

I mean, I love WFTSC [it's my fave NO album, hands down], but out of all the songs on that album, 'Turn' is the one I listen to on repeat... without any rest...

turn makes me cry almost...i feel he/they wrote that song about ian curtis as if he/they were seeing it through deborah curtis' eyes when i hear that song. does that make sense? my step-gma is babbling so its hard to concentrate. lol.

Fantastic song, the chorus is an emotional rush. My only complaint is that, to me, it feels like it ends just slightly too soon. The chorus bit should repeat at least one more time for a great climax... but again, that's just my opinion.;)

I still think this is a superb song and the best track on the album. Its got a great structure with a brilliant bridge. Sounds more emotional and has less fussy production than the other tracks (IMO).

When I first heard Turn, to me it sounded like a sequel or a response to Love will Tear us apart. I think it is the nakedness & the honesty of the song that reminds me of LWTUA. Beautiful.

This is by far the best song on Waiting For The Siren's Call. The lyrics are heartfelt and upfront and the instrumentation reflects this. Now that it's been mentioned, I suppose it does sound moderately Technique-ish. It's a lovely song and was, with the title track, on constant rotation for me awhile back during a rather difficult point in my life. The album itself falls flat in my opinion, but for me, this one's a winner.
