are Man city the most jinxed football club on the planet? they are cursed! nothing is ever easy. they sign Hamann. great player for us. but obviously past his sell by. then he takes an age this season to get in the team. he was subbed last night.
even when i was a kid, they'd spalsh out record fees for the likes of Steve Daly, and end up worse.
However... its not looking good for GARETH SOUTHGATE too. flopped big time last night. they should have got Alan Curbishley. mind you, who in there right mind would wanna go up there. A stadium based in in an Industrial nothing area, and baked in some weird orange glow.
btw: there's only one McMahon.
and his name isn't Tony.
As a City fan of many years standing, the present position we find ourselves in, is indeed dire, but not wholly unexpected. Yes we are jinxed. Pearce has bought poorly in the transfer market, and the chairman hasnt given sufficient cash to replace the players that Keegan bought ie Anelks, Bernarbia, SWP, etc. That said the board wont sack him as there is no better replacement, and there are no additional funds available to anyone who may replace him.

The same thing can be said about Old Trafford surely?! 
Pearce for me, has no contract aswell so would cost nowt to dispose of. City will then go for Curbs.

How can you say that after everything hes done for your lot, that is shocking.
You should support him through thick and thin. I remember when the West Ham 'Faithful' were calling for his head when WH were in the play-off final! hes took you to an FA cup Final and into Europe in the 1st season back in the premiership, he should quit the amount of shit he gets from the ungrateful.
Sorry - should've made that clearer... I don't want him to go, he has done wonders for us, but I bet there'll be a fair few calling for him to go if we go out of Europe on Thursday and don't start climbing the table soon... We're a fickle bunch, but this was supposed to be the season, even before the signing of Tevez and Mascherano... If we bat Palermo on Thursday, he'll be a god again...

Its Dowie's fault. He had ten million to spend, and besides, they weren't bottom of the table.
Besides the squad at the end of last season was much the same as the one they began it with, quite brightly if i remember. Danny Murphy left, (cos he wanted too), and has gone from nearly getting an England call up early last season to currently languishing in the Spurs reserves.
Under Dowie so far, its looking like he'll take another south London team down. Tomorrows result is worryingly crucial.

Murphy and Smertin both left, Rommedahl was dropped and Curbishley lost interest going back to the hoof it up to Bent and bore the opposition to death tactic...Dowie's cleared out a lot of the dead wood that Curbishley should have years ago (Bartlett and Johansson for instance). Some of the worst football I've ever seen was played at the Valley in the second half of last season...Dowie can't do worse than that.

With all due respect, how do you know he's worse? Do you go to see Charlton in real life not just see the 30 seconds of Match of the Day highlights? The only players who look interested in playing for Charlton are Dowie's signings plus Darren Bent. Dowie's Charlton side is better than the one that Curbishley finished with last season.

Yes I live about two miles from the Valley. I went to eight matches last season, two this season.
And if you think a record of P9 W1 D1 L7 is satisfactory then you can enjoy cheaper ticket prices in the Championship next season.

I went to every home game last year and saw a few away ones too...and the year before that and the one before that...all the way back to the days of playing at other people's grounds and beyond...last season was the worst I've seen in all that time - a team and a manager who'd stagnated. If you want to see a manager that couldn't motivate his team then that was Curbishley in the second half of last season because he'd lost interest - or is calling Darren Bent shit during a half time team talk a way of motivating someone? I'm not anti-Curbs as he's the best manager Charlton have had in my lifetime but I'm not blind to his faults either - the team he finished with last season was the worst Charlton have had in the Premiership - without that early season run of results we'd have been relegated. Sacking a manager after 10 games is hardly a good way of attracting a replacement.
rafa, or pardew - take your pick. Oh hang on Newcastle haven't sacked anyone for about 10 minutes so Roeder must be next for the high jump...
