Peter Hook to play bass on upcoming Hybrid album

The new HYBRID album is almost finished - it's 99% there. The last thing to do will be a collaboration with New Order's Peter Hook. He's doing the bass lines for a couple of the tracks for the album. Basically Peter is in the studios with Hybrid at the moment putting the bass lines onto two of their tracks. You can visit Hybrid's website at http://www.hybrid-group.com

Interview with New Order from PlayLouder

New Order might be widely regarded as one of the most innovative British pop groups of the last two decades, but they still have no idea what the secret of their success is. Holed up in drummer Stephen Morris's Macclesfield studio, they crack jokes about their ex-label mates, reminisce about their back catalogue and speculate about their future. For the record, Hooky would like to move to Ibiza whilst Bernard and Stephen can't imagine ever leaving Manchester. Determined to find out what's kept them together for seven albums, twenty-something singles and a World Cup anthem, PLAYLOUDER grilled them about everything from Smashing Pumpkins to Joy Division.

NewOrderOnline has network problems

Our current host, Nexpoint not to name it, feels like NewOrderOnline is taking too much server usage and has decided, even though we paid for 1 full year, to change our website settings after 8 months. Basically, our bandwidth is limited, it might end up in "error 500" or "the network is busy". If you get those errors, go back and try again, it will find a way to work. We are in the process of moving to a new host, hopefuly next week, thank you for your patience.

NewOrderWeb.com up for sale

It seems that NewOrderWeb.com was an orphan, Reprise Records didn't renew their name and it was acquired by a Cyber-Squatting company, BuyDomains.com, which is now trying to sell it with prices from $688 to $10,000 (US Currency). We were interested to acquire this domain so that the US Fans who bought Get Ready wouldn't end up on a page not found, but it's been worst than that.

Rolling Stones' review of Retro

The greatest band to consistently and artfully mix rock and dance music, New Order did everything right: craft well-written, sonically adventurous singles (Blue Monday), create quintessential albums of their era (1985's Low-Life), commission influential club remixes (Shep Pettibone's mix of Bizarre Love Triangle) and perform a career's worth of soul-stirring live shows. Treating its four discs as distinct samplings of each of these strong suits, Retro ropes in outside experts to select its track listings. Although this results in some duplications (three versions each of Crystal, Regret and Fine Time), and a few omissions (no Love Vigilantes), the usually inspired selections reflect the versatile Manchester, England, quartet's unfailing knack for tuneful passion. And for all of New Order's studio elegance and club-accessible mutability, the live disc is radically, raucously raw.

More Information on Peter Saville's book

Peter Saville is perhaps the most influential graphic designer of his generation. Best-known for his seminal record covers for Joy Division and New Order, Saville has also art directed catalogues and advertisements for fashion brands such as Yohji Yamamoto and Dior, and created corporate identities for Givenchy, Mandarina Duck and London's Whitechapel gallery. More recently he has designed CDs for Pulp and Suede, and art directed the print campaign for Stella McCartney. 'Designed by Peter Saville' is the first book of his work. Comprising design for music, fashion, advertising and art, it chronicles his design from 1978 to the present. The book includes a comprehensive interview by Christopher Wilson as well as essays by style writer Peter York, music critics Paul Morley and Miranda Sawyer, and design critics Rick Poynor, Emily King, and Peter Hall.

"Anyhow, I had the delight to buy the Playstation 2 game World Rally Championship back in December 2001, and find that one of the "replay songs" was in fact Close Range. I don't often watch the replays in the game, but I always make a point of always watching those that play to Close Range - make sthat driving experience even better."
