If the Yanks want to see a culture of disorder, they should just go south to Philly after a Sixers, Eagles, or Flyers game in which the home team actually wins. Boston, in comparison, is quite tame. Look at philly fans during the game, especially if their team does awfully; they treat their own teams as shit, and take them for granted And then, when the team makes it to the finals, play offs, or to the Stanley cup, World series, Superbowl, ect, we get ecstatic fans singing tunelessly, "Fly, Eagles, Fly, on the road to victory" or an edited version of Eminem's Slim Shady in which the lyrics are "Will all the real Flyers fans please stand up? Please stand up?" I'm soon expecting an altered version of Nelly's classic song " Shake your tail feather" to become "shake your eagles' feather" as soon as its superbowl time.

Agreed. My Bosox buddy was a bit embarrassed about what happened w/ some of the stuff that happened Saturday, but he'll no doubtless be pleased with the results tonight. Pretty good game to watch, but if Wakefield was one of the starters on my staff, I'd really be a nervous wreck about half of the time. Still, I found this great pic of Pedro and Zim, about the only time that a 30-something man can throw down someone who's over 70 and not be charged with assault.

i love the cubs but i admit we should be called the pitsburg cubs or the chicago-pitsburg cubs or the chicago pirates, we wouldnt be here if not for them. (lofton, ramirez, simon)

i hate the broadcasters on fox, WGN radio does the cubs games, they are more fun and more intense, too bad ron santo is so sick. but pat huges rocks. they live by every pitch.

if you watch the game tonight, the people on waveland ave. outside the parks are idiots and not cubs fans, but dorks who dont watch the game who wanna get on tv. the majority of die-hards watch cubs games on TV or listen on the radio.

Was listening to one of those sports-talk shows last night, the host argued that it was hypocritical of Zimmer to be so upset with Pedro almost beaning somebody considering one of the worst offenders (Roger Clemens) was on his own staff. On one hand, you don't go chewing out one of the all-time greats because he plays a little dirty, but to use that as a defense against an opposing player when one of your own is known for it is a bit shady.

After all, Clemens may be one of the greatest pitchers to ever take the mound, but he does play dirty and often. Anyone remember the whole episodes with Mike Piazza? First Clemens beans him, serious enough that Piazza's down on the ground, then in the Series he unloads a chunk of Piazza's broken bat at him while Piazza's going down the baseline (I'm sure Steinbrenner had something to do with the fact Clemens wasn't suspended, if my memory that nothing was done is correct). Rog is a far nastier bean-baller than I've ever seen Pedro, so Don could have taken a look at his own star "hitter" before using that as an excuse to take a bit of Pedro.

At any rate, Zimmer has been the only one involved who's made an apology (which I still think is legit; the old guy is ashamed of how he behaved, regardless of who's to blame), and I was on the edge of my seat last night watching the last 5 innings (had to work last night), which was a great game. Let's just hope the Cubbies can lock it up tonight.

The great thing about the fan was that he did not break the rules of baseball; he did not reach over the stands to get the ball, so what he did was legal, but the guy is retarded nonetheless; that's a Chicagoan for you But this "interference" hails in comparison to the interference in 1996 in the Yanks-Orioles series, a Yankee hit a ball short of being a homer, but a fan reached over the stands and caught the ball, and no interference was called. This "homer" allowed the Yanks to win the game and the series. So the Yankees undeservingly went to the World Series in 1996. FUCK the Yanks, .....

The problem for us that was the camera angle that made it look like interference for us; the nerd's hands were over the railing slightly, but the ball landed in the stands, so it was not called interference, rightfully so. Chicago is this country's third largest metropolitan area and cities such as Anaheim (Angels and Mighty Ducks) have a richer sports history than you do. Plus you have the worst talk show hosts.
