Jeez, my Bosox coworker came in work today and let out a couple of unholy primal screams today, along with a few FU's for the Yankees. :rolleyes: People in the office thought I'd lost a foot in a pallet jack or something.

There's a surprising number of Sox fans, from what I've seen, who are quite content with just beating the Yanks, my coworker included. "John, you've got another hurdle to clear" "No we don't, it doesn't matter!!!!" Ooooooooohhkay

Have never pulled for the Cards before, didn't like 'em cause they were my dad's team; helluva time to join the ranks. *cough* *splutter* *hack* GO CARDS. :faint:

Don't hold back, Seb, tell us what you really think and feel. :lol:

I'll be rooting for the BoSox... even though Steve Kline is probably one of the few people who really never wanted to get out of Montréal.

(As far as I know, Pedro too!)

Don't get me wrong, I usually hate Boston because of the Bruins ;) However it's quite a nice city.. just too bad we couldn't get tickets to the Fenway Park when Sebastien and I visited it, would have been great to visit a real baseball stadium for once...

While you are at it.. can somebody explain to me WHY... why is there a Kansas City in MISSOURI? and of course one in Kansas.

Something's just wrong there...

I was a bit puzzled when I saw that there were 2 of them, quite close too.

Kansas City is basically one city divided by the state line. Kansas City, Mo is the "proper" place I guess. It is where downtown is and all the sports teams and what not (basically everything). Well all except for some track where people race cars. I think it is called nascar or something. lol Kansas City, KS is basically the wrong side of the tracks. I know how I'd like to see the Series go, you can all probably infer how I'd like it to go, but because I'm a superstitious twit I won't go ahead and say how I want it to go :ignore:

The Cards are a great team: Pujols, Rolen, Amazin' Edmonds (that catch last night was clutch), so no matter how it turns out ( :ignore: ), it'll be one for the ages.

Kansas City Royals... they have always been one of my favorite teams in MLB !

Always underdogs... they never get that much exposure... but just like the Expos, they have produced tons of talents that, eventually, was traded to money-packed teams. :nonono:

Carlos Beltran is the latest example of that, of course. Johnny Damon is another example. The Royals could have been a dynasty if it had retain its best players for the last 10 years and had the money to add 2 or 3 impact players.

Other great or good players who emerged from the Royals farm system that come to mind:

Joe Randa Mike Sweeney Dan Quisenberry George Brett Mark Davis??? Maybe I'm mistaking with another closer... the guy who owned the record before Gagné... Others ???

Willie Wilson and Frank White are two other Royals who came up through their farm system. I've also had a soft spot for KC, with family connections in KC and Topeka.

That'd be great! Just remember, Sox won the first two against the Mets in 86, and while the Yankees may have the all time choke job for a series, let's not forget perhaps the classic single game choke job of all time by those Sox, game six. Personally, it's not all Buckner's fault, just remember, the Sox were within one strike of the title, and then......

BTW this offseason should mark the beginning of an exodus of Bosox players, well unless Boston wants a 200 million dollar payroll. Bye bye Varitek, Pedro, Lowe, and hopefully the list will go on.
