Here's the thing: she turned me down but I'm optimistic.
It all went down Wednesday night, as she was leaving for the night. We were talking and such (turns out she's going to work at the grocery store I've switched to after W-D shuts down), and I took the moment and ran with it.
I said that I'd like to take her out to dinner, or a movie, or both, or neither, or sky-diving. She didn't look at me like I was crazy, and she simply said after I asked if I was barking up the wrong tree, that she had a boyfriend. Not "no way, you disgusting freak!" or "Please, like I'd date you!". Perfectly nice about it, I then said "I can see where that would be a problem" and left it at that. No crying jags about "please dump him!" or "you led me on!". And what's more, it's now forty-eight hours since and I don't feel like doing any of those things at all (could have something to do with my purchase of Chappelle's Show Season One recently, which I'm working through and loving).
Anyway, the deed is done, I have been turned down but not harshly, and what's more she won't be dating this guy forever...because she can't date him if I've got the dude tied up downstairs, with no hope of rescue Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
I am more than willing to be "her guy on the rebound"
