It's been 5 days for me since i last had one, the tester is tonight when i'm out.

I tried patches and they were a bag of shite!
Try the gum! The sensation is weird, but when you chew gum it feels like you've had a smoke: You get the hit of the drug without the consequences of the crap in tobacco and it's easier to quit the gum than the fags.
That's how I did it.
You may go back and forth through smoking - gum - not smoking 4 or 5 times, but eventually you will quit if you want to....
Some people are lucky and can cold turkey - most can't.
Always best to quit when you can. My ex's mother tried everything-- patches, hynosis, you name it, her kids bought it for her. She could never quit. Then one day, her doctor told her she had emphysema. She quit smoking that day, and never smoked again.
It was too late. She spent the rest of her life hooked up to an oxygen tank.
She always said she couldn't quit, but she did quit when push came to shove-- just too late.
Quit while you can. You can do it. Just hang in there. The worst will be over soon.
Update: went out Friday night and Saturday afternoon in a smokey pub, with most of my friends offering me Marlboro's and i resisted! Good thing is your hangovers aren't half as bad without smoking!
