I'll second all 3. Sun Always Shines On TV is fantastically arranged and orchestrated. Brilliant tune.

I managed to see a random concert on televison and was truly impressed with how good they still sounded. Strong live vocals and very tight timing. Truly professional sound.

The Airplane's creative highpoint was about the time the needle hit on "White Rabbit" and ended on "Somebody to Love". The Starship editions (both of them) contributed to the general decline in Western civilization that led to 9/11. Yes, I draw a direct line between "We Built This City on Rock and Roll" to the actions of Osama Bin Laden (I believe the historical record will bear me out)

I saw Grace Slick on a news show a while back, she looks like Bea Arthur now. Scary

Tabbsy, ewe ignorant slut. From 1966 to 1969, Jefferson Airplane was one of the best rock bands on the planet. Surealistic Pillow, The amazing After Bathing at Baxters, the almost equally amazing Crown of Creation, Volunteers. Volun-fucking-teers.

Even Blows against The Empire, the first album recorded by "Jefferson Starship" (actually a Paul Kantner solo album), was a good album.

The musicians? Jorma Kaukonen plays like nobody else on Earth. One of a handful of guitarists with a signature sound. Actually, two signature sounds, because he likes to play electric, and he likes to play acoustic blues. A one-of-a-kind guitarist. Jack Casady was his counterpart on bass-- an amazingly talented musician in his own right.
