Mine is...I get to tell fucking idiots they can't go on holiday because the Govt. can't actually pull a passport out of it's arse and beam it to them at gatwick at 3am, because they didn't think you needed one to go to Botswana. I love it :D

Now....as a light diversion ( and to prove our boy Glas's point for him)

Would anyone like to guess what the first question someone in my work will be asked upon disconnecting a call and telling a tale of ABJECT stupidity?

well mate, it's got something to do with a girl from Serbia and a girl from Switzerland. In particular the girl from Switzerland that sent another flame behind the scenes tonight.

But being a decent chap, I'll protect their identities

And if either wishes to challenge my comments feel free. Do you want the world to know what you've been up to? And why?

for the sake of accuracy, there ought to be a paddy in there too, tho not tonight. And for my part, like the man said, "i've no passion for this hate" nor any.

I'm just stating the glaringly obvious fact that a lot of what gets posted is dull but more importantly I'm also pointing out that 6 page long threds which are basically three people having a yawnsome conversation are best kept for Messenger. This is particularly annoying when they crop up in really good threads and basically lead to them being hijacked and taken in a totally different direction by the usual suspects.

Have you every visited another forum? I'd just like to kindly point out that all the irritating situations you mention (boring posts, and a few people taking over) happens at EVERY single forum. etc. etc. etc.

It's probably something they do in dark rooms in amsterdam, ask your students, they're "hip".

Dunno bout that, but they do have nice hips.

I'm still very confused about all of this, though: do people really care what people that they've never actually met* think about them?? Really?

How bizarre.

(* Being old fashioned, I mean in "real" life as we traditionally understand it. Apologies for being a luddite.)

Assuming you actually want an answer to that...... Speaking for me, I couldn't give a flying monkey scrote what any fucker thinks of me anywhere online...but this place is different, everyone here is a NO fan, and that's not like being a feckin stamp collector or a trainspotter, it counts for something, it's like a glowing reference in your CV...so when people here are unpleasant to me, I tend to take it RIGHT to heart, probably more so than I would from most "real" people too....hence my tendency to go buck daft much to the bemusement of others. Besides, the line between real and virtual blurs somewhat here too, there are meetups, many a phonecall, hell even a little romance from time to time. If NOOL blew up tomorrow, do I think I'd still be talking to any of these people in a year? Well I'd very much like to think the two ladies above, and indeed the object of their ire, would all still be very much in my contacts list of whatever method of communication is "cool" by then, among a few others.

And it's an experiment that can indeed be carried out on a limited scale....i'll be back at work before long, and NOOL will become a decidedly occasional thing once more, I can hear the street parties already.

Does this place get to people? Well the sort of shite going on on this thread truly gets me down, and it's only cos I care, about all of us here....damnit people we're the only ones who understand the biggest most beautiful secret in all of the history of music.

I personally think everyone on here is great(maybe to many unwashed for my personal liking),but as a fellow Neworder fan I think you need banter and piss taking other wise go and join the Genesis forum. But I do agree to many new folk on here and that includes you Steve (My average one thread per month since I joined):thumb:

Though I am new to the board I fully understand the begining post.

I find it really funny how a few individuals have taken such an offense to it(no reasons need reply). It was a simple point, and observation, yet some are taking it as a personal attack. Don't like the observation? Read another post. Agree with it? Good to go. Or I suppose we could all get a bunch of weapons and have a shoot out???

Look, MSN messenger is good for individual, personal conversations (no accusations, just a simple statement). . .use it. As for the topics, well, good ones keep posting and stay on top while bad ones disappear. Enough said.

JHC

PS Forums usually get at each other's neck this time of year anyways, people just can't wait for summer.

is anyone here? oh sorry i'm starting one of those conversations.

I used to get paid to do this. Well, maybe not exactly, but I used to get paid to sit at a desk, and if I wanted to post on NOOL all night, no problem.

Those were the days. Now all my posts are on my dime.
