Agree but their version was appalling!

The proof!!!

That was a far better and more polished performance than their appearance on The Word...

...Not quite sure about LeBon's continual 'c'mon y'all' though

My da has Chris Rea - The Road to Hell which I think was released towards the end of the 80's. When was The Road to Hell Part 2 released.

Woah, Maja, not so fast!

Let me tell you how the business began. Give a listen to her "Man, I Still Feel Like A Woman!"

The Road To Hell wasn't bad, a tirade against Thatcher and Conservatism is always a plus in my book, right kids! :thumb:

Dylan and the Dead isn't a bad album, it just shows the bias of this magazine towards anything melodic :P

And I also remember them praising Limp Bizkit as a great modern rock album.

Surprised Andrew WK didn't end up there. Another album they liked initially.

I don't have any of them, but I can't believe there wasn't a spot to add some Johnny Hates Jazz.

And Shanya Twain's Come On Over is superb: all the songs are hits.

It's the only album on the list that I have. It's not that bad.

In fairness, anyone who has actually listened to Be Here Now should realise that it is pretty good. Fair enough, theres some crap on there, but some great Oasis tunes as well Fade-In Out, Magic Pie, D' You Know What I Mean etc etc.

Even Standing on the shoulders of giants isnt that bad. Where Did It All Go Wrong? Gas Panic! Sunday Morning Call... and Go Let It Out is pretty awesome live.

So is that why Noel dismisses Be Here Now as shit?

yes, but Noel also reckons that Dont Believe The Truth is the best thing they have done since Morning Glory.

And that Liam is a good songwriter.

Agreed.

if everyone had discovered decent music in 1979, like me, people wouldn't have this problem.

Not true then?

I thought a few songs off it were good: Lyla, Turn Up The Sun, Importance...

Compared to:

Dont Look Back In Anger, Morning Glory, Some Might Say...?

Or stuff of Masterplan, like Acquiesce, Underneath The Sky and erm... Masterplan.

Yes, DBTT is alright. Its nothing special, and by god did lyla get irritating quickly.

Fair enough.

Not a huge Oasis fan. The only album I can listen to fully is Definetly Maybe.

What's the Story... had a few good tracks on it, but nothing special, IMO.

Didn't bother with them afterwards.

Have all the Oasis albums. This is my list of what I prefer 1-6. To be honest I like all of them, bar number 6. 4 and 5 will swap places sometimes.

  1. Whats the Story (Morning Glory)
  2. Definitely Maybe
  3. Don't Believe the Truth
  4. Heathen Chemistry
  5. Be Here Now
  6. Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

The Masterplan is also excellent but its not really a proper album so I didn't include it.

I must say i'm amazed that Kill Uncle didnt make it into the list.

If I'm correct, Mozza was giving Q magazine a lot of abuse at the Move Festival.

Perhaps they don't want to start him?

Can I just point out that I don't really own Road To Hell. It was in a batch of CDs I brought over here from my dad's house.

The quote was something like this:

"Now, if any of you read Q Magazine, and I really dont recommend it, you might think that modern music is absolutely crap"

Probably a response to Q giving Quarry 2 out of 5.
